Has Evander Holyfield ever commented on the power of Foreman, Lewis, and Tyson?

Just goes to show what damage even the old Foreman could have done in the hw division if he'd managed to (comfortably) slim down to below 17 stone. (below 238 pounds). :nut

Still, he had good stamina for a man of his age and weight.

That's exaggerating. Holyfield backed up in the opening seconds when Tyson clubbed him with a right hand. That's a fact.

Thanks for sharing Holyfield's comments. Now I don't understand why he never talked about Lewis :yep

He was stunned in the opening seconds but he came right back at Mike and had him backing up also.

Mike was backed up more in the fight than Evander was.

Evander looked so tired after going 12 with Foreman at 28 years old.

Evander looked like he could go 15 against Tyson at 34 years old.

This is not what you stated in your original post! Your original post implied that Holyfield took a big shot from Tyson AND did not back up from THAT. Perhaps I misunderstood.

Hmmmm...a re-watch of Holyfield vs Foreman after work seems like a good idea...:good

Evander was stunned for a sec and fought right back.

I wouldn't even say he was really BACKED UP.

Remember those shots Tyson hit Evander with in round 5?

Holyfield was stunned but was not really BACKED UP.

Backed up to me is Tyson in round 2, 10 and 11.

I take any boxer's answer to this infamous question with a grain of salt. There always seems to be a lot of conflicting information. And fighters are notorious for not wanting to admit things like this. You never know what their motives are behind the comment. They often don't give credit to the guy that actually got them out, because they attribute losses to an "accident" or "mistake" they made. It's just human nature.

I dislike when people credit Tyson's power to nothing but "speed". That is part of it, yes. But Tyson had excellent form. He used his entire body (trunk, legs) for excellent transfer of power, like a MLB pitcher. It comes down to physics and leverage. So I believe his power was definitely top-tier. He just often got people out early, without having to beat them to a bloody pulp.

Holyfield beat on a 257-pound bulky man all night long against Foreman; he should have looked tired! Foreman's size and great chin kept him in the fight, and Holyfield tried his best to knock him out - he came close twice! The point is: Holyfield treated Foreman like a heavybag on the end of a 12-round workout.

Tyson never hit Holyfield the way he hit Ruddock, Berbick, Holmes, etc. Holyfield was always grabbing, turning, spinning, tying up; Tyson never really unloaded his power with full force cleanly. Even in the 5th round of the first fight and the 3rd round of the second fight, both rounds in which Tyson was coming on strong, most of his punches were short, inside punches that were partially blocked by Holyfield; they weren't the big howitzer-type of punches that felled so many other Tyson victims.

If you ask Holyfield 10 times he will say Foreman hit him harder 8 times and Bowe the other 2 times and since he got in the ring with them i will believe his word over what you people " think" when you have no clue since you never been hit by there guys.

The first punch of the Holy Tyson 1 fight was insane. I dont know how Holy didnt go down from it. He was basically frozen for a second but held on. For the record, Tyson punched with a lot more snap and speed in his pre prison career, but this was one hell of a shot.

It says something about Evander's amazing chin ... the third Bowe fight Evander was sick and fought like it ... the guy had an exceptionally great chin ...
