The man has talked alot about longivity in the sport, and why he has made smart buisness decisions along the way, Some call it Cherry picking some call it being a smart minded manager.

Either way, I think we all know if FLoyd sat down and fought it out like Gatti had, he wouldnt have gotten himself this far. Especially in fighting Castillo and Corrales and DLH I think if Floyd just fought the way fans wanted him to, he wouldnt be in this position.

Right now the DLH Aftermath has left us with a little monster from the Phillipines who seems to batter the **** out of his opponents or puts them through life and death while in there with him.

Do you think Mayweather has a purpose for waiting it out? I think so, Becuase I think that the fights he is going to be taking in his come back are fights that will test him in areas that can wind up being career ending, and some fighters can have a full career fighting that way, others maybe one or two fights like that and they are done.

Perhaps he has been saving himself for this challenge~

The DLH fight was the fight that he saved himself for and that one sucked. He was calling out DLH for as long as I can remember. It was his biggest payday ever and he will never make that kind of money again he will also never have that kind of audience again. If he was going to do something with some extra wow factor that would have been the fight to do it in.

To me it seemed like he carried De La Hoya abit, maybe so there would be more interests in a rematch.

If Floyd beats Marquez, Mayweather-Pacquiao will make even more money than Mayweather-DLH did.

Skillwise, it will be one of the best fights in the history of boxing....considering Floyd is still near prime vs. Marquez :deal

So basically this is another disguised stab at Pac.

**** do you hate Pac so much that you feel the need to jump on the cherrypicker´s bandwagon after years of talking **** about him.

cmon man you´re better than that.

No your saying he Cherry Picks I am pointing out that he is not the only one, and Manny being that its the fight that makes most sense, we can not ignore his Cherry Picking neither.

Fact is Roach did a great job getting the right fights for Manny at the right time, is Manny any less of a fighter because of it? No but he is still a Cherry Picking mother ****er.

    Bladerunner,

Who is that in the avatar?

Anyways, JMM is not really cherrypicking as is evidenced by his fights with Pacman. I still believe the four knockdowns he suffered does suggest that Pacman did more to persuade the judges he won the fight. If PBF does get by JMM, I don't know how he could not avoid the moment of a generation-defining, record-money grossing, pound-for-pound summit meeting with Pacman.

And like someone has said before, Mayweather-Pacquiao will beat all PPV sales with relative ease.

Good post...Most of these hater are calling fighters cherry pickers when it goes on in boxing day in and day out...I mean every fighter at one point in time is guilty of cherry picking.

PBF said his body was breaking down and said on PBF-Hatton 24/7 that he planned to take 08 off and probably fight in 09 at the earliest. I guess he wasn't playing.
