Has Floyd ever faced anyone as fast as Pac?

No, on film I don't neccessarily see that Pacquiao is "much" faster than Judah. Especially not the Judah that fought Mayweather, compared to the Judah of today. Make sure to be comparing the relevant footage if you are not already, but I'd stand by the assesment that their relative handspeed is pretty close. Maybe Pacquiao has the edge, but I wouldn't place them poles apart.

By the way, if you've been watching the footage of Marquez you'd also know that perhaps timing and styles are more relevant than speed in the fight.

 

Zab had a faster jab and that’s pretty much it. Hand speed you could argue that he was faster but the entire punch is more than hand speed. When you take into account the entire body movement of a punch Pac is faster mainly becasue his footwork is so fast.

But lets remember Zab is everyone's token fast leftey. As was said here before everyone who has beaten Zab line up to the left.

 

Zab, Mayweather and Pac are all in the same general AREA of speed. The extents differ slightly, but they're all in the same realm. The difference isn't so vast that any of them can overwhelm eachother with pure speed -- it comes down to other factors like timing, conditioning, skill, gameplan, etc.

 

Def Zabs handspeed, we could remember the first few rounds on that fight... Only if Zab could have control his emotions better, he could have accomplish more... His surroundings have not help him, esp with his composure and attitude, which could affect a fighter...

Zab Judah is as fast as pac. He doesnt have near the footwork or the combination punching though.

 

Baldomir was far from a journeymen. He hadnt lost in a decade. He fought well against both Vernon Forrest and Joshua Clottey, and beat Judah.

Corrales would have beaten the Pac that lost to Morales. Pac was a limited fighter then.

Most of the ringside observers thought Floyd won. Post your scorecard if you think different.
