Has Floyd Ever faced anyone as good as Marquez?

lots of fighter go into fights with mental baggage, but that why their calls professionals. because despite the bull**** that is swirling around, the show must go on. Thats what make them grate fighters.

Are you serious? Do you really think Corrales, Castillo and HATTON are better than De La Hoya? Ricky Hatton? Even at age 34 Oscar was much more skillful than Hatton. At age 36 he lasted 8 rounds against Pacquiao instead being put to sleep in 4 minutes.

Oscar De La Hoya is Floyd's best win, if you call that a win. I scored it 115-113 for Oscar, based on aggression. In the absence of effective aggression, I give the round to the ineffective aggressor. Ineffective aggression is better than running away, which is what Floyd did for most of the night.

 

That excuse doesnt fly homie...Lets not forget that Douglas lost his mother and he pulled off one of the biggest upset in sports history...PERIOD...so for you to say that Chico had distractions should honestly not be acknowledged because he was the one who chose to go with the fight.

 

Chico was facing jail time, Divorce & the stigma of being labled a woman beater..ect (Defo not the same)

Buster lost his mom, True.. But he used that as motivaion.
(Similar to what De La Hoya did for the OLY)

That said, I'm not taking away PBF's win, He beat Chico period.

On paper, Marquez is just as good as any fighter Floyd has faced.

 

Not saying Chico would have won, but I'm sure he would have put up a better fight. He was on his way to prison (literally a few days after the fight), and was going through a nasty divorce. Like I said, I don't think he would have won, but he defintely was distracted and could have done better.

 

I think only the version of DLH that fought Mayweather ranks up there against JMM.

I had that a 115-113 fight for Mayweather.

When this fight was announced i thought it would be a mis match but know i think JMM may beable to pull it off.....or at least make it interesting.....fingers crossed.

 

Fights that look good on paper don't always live up to the hype. If Floyd easily outpoints JMM, people will say that other opponents were better than Marquez that Floyd faced. This is a double edged sword.

 

If u scored 115-113 for Mayweather in the Dela hoya fight,U are clearly are blind and need some medical attention asap.....Mayweather dominated Oscar!!!,He Outboxed Oscar the whole night,And I believe Floyd defeated him EASILY,I scored the fight 117-111 for Floyd Mayweather

 

Skill and experience wise, Marquez and DLH are tied, but as far as finishing strong, and not being afraid to REALLY fight, Juan Manuel is the best all around fighter Floyd has ever gone up against.
