    As for the question at hand,

    Has there ever been a complete fighter in the history of boxing?

    Every fighter has a specific strength, every fighter has an area that they'd love to improve. Some fighters appear complete until they step in against someone that has the specific tools to cause them problems.

    As a heavyweight Ali was as close to complete as one could be although imagine if he contained a little more dynamite in those hands of his....

    Another couple of inches to his height would have been nice too.

    I wouldn't say Ali was a complete fighter. He rarely threw body punches. Although it does show how good a boxer he was considering he just concentrated on the head so much.
