7 -5? Oscar had only lost to Hopkins, Mosley, and Trinidad before he took on Floyd.

Considering the size advantage Oscar had, it's a good win.

Castillo never EASILY beat Floyd, he had one close fight with Floyd, and another that well semi-close was easily Floyds fight. No where anywhere can you say Castillo easily beat Floyd, first off he lost the fight, 2nd off it was a close fight. Your bias on this shows how much of a ****** you are.

Sure Gatti had lost in the past, but 2 things make it a decent win, the fact that Gatti came into the fight after going 2 and 1 with Ward in a great trilogy, then beating Bronco, Dorin, and Leija. He was coming into the fight with Floyd on a very high note, he had a new style and a new trainer, and looked very good in his previous few fights beating legit guys. Floyd made him a punching bag, he destroyed Gatti in such a one-sided beat down you felt sorry for Gatti... remember people say Gatti was too big for Floyd, he would push Floyd around.. nope. Gatti got his ass kicked and hardly landed a shot in return. Another point, Gatti went on to beat the decently regarded Damgaard in impressive fashion before losing two fights an retiring. It's a good win when you consider all the facts into the fight.

Baldo was a tough fight, sure he's got a bad record, but the cat hadn't lost a fight in 8 years. He had a pretty decent run going into the Floyd fight as well beating in his last 4 fights: Judah, Gatti, Rodriguez, Aguzum. Top off with he was the legit champ, and you make the fight.

Judah was a money fight, plain and simple, but it proved Floyd could be a quick, agile, powerful, bigger fighter. Floyd dominated him after the first few rounds.

The only one that was really a bad fight was Mitchell, Mitchell was pretty washed up at the point, but he's still a decent name, and at one point was one of the most feared fighters out there in his division.

And how many undefeated fighters has Hatton faced? Urango - but he really lost to the Aussie but got a gift and had a draw

Mayweathers undefeated is only Corrales. But Chavez was sort of undefeated only having 1 disputed loss earlier in his career.

Undefeated records usually mean they havent mixed much in elite class or have a padded record though.

Floyd was unbeatable up to lightweight----He would have done a hellava lot more for his image and fan following if he had openly challenged all comers in the 140lb & 147lb ranks----he had a good chance of succeeding as well---in stead he seemed to like pick his way thru like he was treading thru a minefield but with a blueprint of the field in his pocket!!!

pbf needs to take the 0 off hatton, cotto, and williams to be considered one of the true all time greats imo.

Viperman, funny how you don't reply to my post.

Because your opinions do not equal facts.

    Facts are facts.

Throw out Williams' name and you have a good point. Williams has shown nothing really special in the ring, and really has not established himself. With everything that he's already accomplished, beating Hatton and Cotto would be enough to cement Floyd's place among the ATG's. Hell, if he retired right now he would still be a sure fire hall of famer and considered one of the best of his era.

i didn't reply cos i respected your opinion
i said oscar was 7-5 in his last 12 fights and didn't say before pbf.
hopkins, mosely twice, trinidad, and pbf were the 5 losses.

    Agreed.

But...it seems Viper's point of this thread is to state that the opponents that Floyd fought to this point weren't legitimate, or credible. And, even if you think Floyd cherry-picked (we disagree to an extant on this), or, that there are names missing on his resume (we agree on this point), I think, for the most part, PBF's opposition could still be considered "decent", at the very least.

If you want to say that it could have been better, than that's one thing. If you want to say that it was bad, then that's another thing altogether.
