Has Floyd hid a vulnerable chin throughout his prime like Roy Jones did?

solid as a mother****er. those two shots shane landed on him in the second should enhance his chins reputation. they were brutal, flush powerhouse shots and would of downed other men in the division. throw into the mix how impressive his recuperation was and you've got somebody who is near on impossible to take out.

there is nothing wrong with floyd's beard.

So i guess Floyd's chin is better than the so called "iron chins" of Abrahams and Froch then? because BOTH of those guys have been knocked down and Floyd hasn't, it speaks volumes when the only thing people can talk about is Floyd being hit flush twice when Pac got hit with three uppercuts in a row against Clottey, left hooks against Cotto and has also been ko'd twice.

Mayweather's chin may not be as sturdy as people heretofore thought. He may indeed have a Jones-like weakness. Fighting Pacquiao would be a good way to prove people wrong.

 You're more sensitive than a 14 year old girl's clitoris today. Good job I couldn't give a flying **** about your opinion on anything, isn't it?

A guy who hardly ever gets hit cleanly or badly hurt got hit cleanly and badly hurt, if you don't think that's a noteworthy event which justifies discussion then this forum probably isn't for you. :good

Exactly. This event HAS to raise questions about Mayweather's whiskers. It always amazes me how many boxing fans don't appear to recognize the signs of a suspect chin.

Mayweather has fought 41 times in 5 different divisions and has never been legitimately knocked down. If last night proved he had a vulnerable chin, then so does pretty much every fighter in the sport. Mosley was seriously hurt and knocked down twice against Forrest, and was rocked multiple times last night. Margarito has been down like 4 or 5 times and has been stopped. Pacquiao was rocked by Larios, who was coming up two weight classes. Marquez has been hurt and dropped several times. This is boxing people, you're going to get hurt in this sport. If Mayweather really had chin problems, he wouldn't have kept pressing the action after getting hurt. He didn't even back into the ropes like he did against Judah and Corely.

Pacquiao wasn't even hurt at all vs Clottey and Cotto, never mind clutching his opponent's arm like a starving orphan trying to avoid getting put down. Completely different situations, fanboy.

This thread is flawed. Jones had a GOOD chin until he got old.

    Floyd has a GOOD chin.

I still just find it funny that a few days ago: Shane is the hardest puncher in the WW division according to many people.

And today: Floyd has a suspect chin since he got hit with 2 perfect punches by an old man.

these guys have reputations because they have styles and have been in situations where they've had to walk through a lot of painful clean shots. their reputations are perfectly valid, as is floyd for having an also sturdy jaw.

Pacquiao wasn't rocked by Larios. If he was, give me a round so I can see this noteworthy "rocking"?

Other than that, fair post. This thread wasn't me saying Floyd has a weak chin, I just wanted to discuss it, because I've never seen him in trouble like that before. Shane hits like a mule at welter, that can't be denied.
