I'm hearing people say some absurd sh!t like Floyd has slipped more than Manny. How is this even remotely possible?

    Floyd's a risk-adverse, defensive fighter w/ a style suited for longevity.

Floyd has rarely been in wars.

Floyd's vacations over the years were designed to preserve his mind and body (these are his words, so please do not get angry with me).

Looked AMAZING against Canelo, Ortiz, and Guerrero (speed, accuracy).

So has Floyd really slipped or was Maidana a cherrypick gone wrong?

    :think

Floyd took away one main advantage Maidana has and that was his power.

It was a cherry pick by Floyd gone wrong.

True. All the Flamos were saying that Floyd was going to stop Maiden early w/ bodyshots. They also predicted that Floyd would stop Cotto on cuts.

YOU claimed he has slipped more than Manny. How is this possible? Pac's coming off of a brutal KO and has been in a million wars.

Wars or not, he's pushing 38. He's slipping. Maidana is no where near the same style as Canelo or Guerrero.

He has definitely slipped, movement not the same, output not the same and I don't think he has the same snap on his punches.

He is a cnut for fighting Maidana twice instead of Manny Pacquiao.

Because Canelo fought a different fight. Canelo and Maidana are not the same. Pacquiao has slipped too.

Neither. Maidana is a solid welter, greatly improved under Garcia.

He is neither a cherry pick, nor is Mayweather super beatable now. (though he is past-prime and has slipped in some categories, just not alarmingly so)

I think the intention was a cherry pick personally.

He may have slipped but you can't rule out a cherry pick on that notion.

He thought he'd beat Maidana comfortably after seeing the Aleaxander and Broner fights.

He then makes 100 percent sure he doesn't lose or risks getting knocked out by making Maidana wear powerlock gloves. Maidana's team had a replacement approved by the board to wear his horse hair gloves, too.

He had to have the extra advantage to make sure it wouldn't explode in his face, and it nearly did.

Double edged sword. If you want to call Mayweather vs. Maidana I a "cherry pick gone wrong" you can't discredit him for the rematch. :nono

Im honestly not sure. I went for cherrypick though. Floyds obviously not getting any better or any younger. A few years ago he would of made much lighter work of Maidana than he did.

But at the same time hes not shot yet, still the best out there and hes certainly not punch drunk, his brilliant boxing brain still ticks over nicely. I just think in that 1st fight Maidana just surprised Mayweather and really gave it every ounce in his body that night and gave Floyd a really hard night. Like Hattons tactics but without it all going to ****.

Prob why he doesnt fancy facing Pacquiao, hed get twice what Maidana threw at him every round. But then saying that thats Pacquiao from a few years ago, i think Pacman is the one who is visibly beginning to show signs of slowing.

I won't discredit him for the rematch but i'm not sure he thought Maidana was much more improved at welterweight.

I mean Maidana beat Adrien Broner who Floyd thought was too small for the weight and thought he was advised wrongly in taking the fight against Maidana.

The first fight may have been a cherry pick. I don't think he honestly expectied to struggle with Maidana when a lesser fighter in Alexander shut him out comfotably.

I mean he beat Maidana in the first fight. But by no means did he make it look easy. He was sitting on the ropes numerous times in the fight. Maidana really put in a lot of pressure.

The second fight would have obviously been easier. I think that was the general consensus considering Floyd had already would have figured him out.
