I think the situation is somewhat more opaque than you paint it.

But you are correct in saying that Furys mental, health issues could possibly excuse him of some transgressions to his benefit.

To say he faked it because he has been out in public shows your ignorance of mental illness. It's an invisible killer and is just as serious as any other chronic illness. It was clear even before the Wlad fight that he wasn't quite right. I'm glad he's getting the help he needs and would be happy for him to walk away from boxing if it means he will be in a healthier place. Good luck to him. I don't agree with a lot of what he says but like him or hate him, he is a man in pain and deserves some compassion.

 

Fury was talking about his mental illness, suicidal depression back in 2011 or before.

Just because he is out and about and seems normal in public doesn't mean he isn't suffering from mental illness. Plenty of boxers suffered depression during their careers and you never knew about it until later, the same with many celebrities, to the outside world they seem fine but in reality they are suffering.

Maybe he is faking it though, he's been caught lying about the whole doping situation a few times and it wouldn't be a surprise if he is exaggerating his circumstances for his benefit.

Well Fury had already had multiple fails for various banned or illegal substances before he had his 'current mental health issues' so don't think you will find that is the case.

Much more likely he has conveniently timed his latest 'mental issues' with his UKAD hearings so that there can be an injunction and blanket ban on reporting the UKAD hearing results due to his 'suicidal thoughts' and current 'mental health issues'. That way he can come back, whenever, and supposedly nobody will know about the long drug ban he has been given, or Hughies shorter ban either.

 

If Fury was taking peds it has never done much for his physique. If your theory is plausible, I think it much more likely that he didn't want his party drugs to be found rather than performance enhancing drugs.
