Does anyone know anything about this situation? Seems totally bizarre that one of the most marketable fighters in Britain isn't allowed to fight in front of TV cameras.
Don't really know but in the last Peter Fury interview I heard he said in effect that this fight wasn't exactly nailed on.Also said that it wasn't necessary for Tyson to be able to beat Chisora,he could do it with or without. My own Opinion, for what its worth,is that this won't go ahead. There would have been no problem getting him a fight on last weeks bill. That was said at a press conference by the promoters, and Mick Hennessy didn't seem to raise any objections. Thing is,Fury already looks at least near to his pre Haye shape.
Anyone heard anything on this? It does seem odd that Fury only quit training a couple of weeks ago, instead of just after the Abell fight. I think the fight has happened and looking at Fury's face recently, he's not marked up. Would be good to find some recent pictures of Takam.
Fury's been badly handled this last year. It was a mistake not to have him fight at the end of 2013 when the Haye fight was first cancelled and re-scheduled for this February. Peter Fury certainly mentioned he wanted him in the ring in October or November, but that was pushed out for Haye again. Then of course Haye, predictably, cancelled again. And Fury turned to fat. When Fury fought Abell he looked in terrible shape. Now he's forced to wait until July. Not just physically, but mentally, this is damaging to a fighter who actually was starting to take things seriously. I don't believe any of this hidden fight stuff.
I think the inactivity is going to play a part in this fight and im starting to think Chisora is going to win which will be bad for boxing
There is no way Fury would have had a keep busy fight before the rescheduled Haye fight this Febuary. It would have been to big a risk to take in case he got injured and missed out in the big payday. If you want to say he was badly mishandled then OK, but only for doing business with Haye in the first place. Anyway Fury has plenty of time to get in shape for Chisora, so fighting on July will only help him and shouldn't be used as any excuse.
