Has Gvozdyk got anything left for the top 10?

In my opinion, no and it's not just ring rust.

He took tremendous physical and psychological damage in his loss to Beterbiev. He is boxing again due to financial reasons, not a deep desire to prove anything. He doesn't posses fight ending power and his speed, while decent, isn't super.

At thirty six I just don't see it. Hope he proves me wrong, always liked the guy.

He could easily beat Buatsi, Ramirez, Azeez and Yarde. Let him face a few of them, shake the rust off, then maybe he'll be mentally and emotionally back fully and ready to take on the rest. Clearly he was in first gear against Bolotniks, and when he wanted to turn it on and get him out of there, he did it with absolute ease and that's not easy with a guy as sturdy as Bolotniks. He really should use Killswitch Engage as his theme music, because that mother****er has one. His power is devastating, it's such a pity he doesn't believe in it a little more. Had he gone all out looking for the KO against Beterbiev early, Artur would be an afterthought by now.

Yes, he'd beat a number of the top 10. LHW isn't that deep. With another tune-up he would have an excellent chance against anyone but Bivol and Beterbiev, and would surely be a big favourite against someone like Mathieu Bauderlique (boxrec #10).

We don't know exactly how much the Beterbiev loss took out of him and what his motivation is like, but the fundamentals and power are still there and that's enough to make him top 10.

3rd best light heavyweight, already, right now. He still needs to prove it, of course. I'd like to see him fight Bivol, the only negative being, if he beat Bivol, what's next? Another beating from 'King Artur'? Just unlucky to have been in Arturs way, in an alternate universe maybe he's undisputed already.

How am I supposed to answer this question when I haven't seen the fight yet?

I will be watching it in the next few days and you can take that to the bank

But give me some space to breathe here. Jeez!

From the brief bit of footage I saw he did not look the same

You know I'm always going to give it to your raw and I've got too much damn pride and respect for myself to lie to myself. You feel me?

Obviously he's still good but the question is is he still as good as he used to be? Botviniks is a tough competitor with good skills and win or lose he's going to drag you into a real fight and Gvozdyk hadn't been in one of those in 3.5 years and he'd only fought once since then, against a nobody in February, so I'd be surprised if he were to look near his best

I thought he looked diminished from his earlier efforts, his opponent allowed him to coast along without any serious consequences. If he avoids any hazards he should parlay his name into a big money fight. Which I think he'll lose

I wish they hadn't put his big comeback fight on while I was getting my snacks ready.

Something else that needs to be taken into consideration, Bolotniks is damned good and a tricky operator who himself is capable of beating several men in the top 20. Who racked up an incredibly impressive run of wins over the likes of Hrvoje Sep, Hosea Burton, Serge Michel, Sergei Ekimov, Steven Ward, Gasan Gasanov and he was robbed against Micki Nielsen. He also gave hell to and won several rounds off of Buatsi before being stopped late. So it wasn't like he was a light touch, Gvozdyk merely made him look like one, and then did with him what he wished when he was ready.

This. I felt bad wanting to see Gvod beat Rickards because I had a big win when Bolots stopped Michel, so he's always gonna be a fav of mine. He's a prime example of levels but take him lightly and you'll lose.

He looked good on saturday night, but you can still see that he has some ring rust left to shake off. If i were in his team i wouldnt rush him, id take my time and get sharper. The top 10 are some tough individuals.

The end of that 175 top 10 isn't unbeatable by any means. Picking off Baudlerique is very different than beating Bivol.

Gvozdyk return for money. he had failed in business and now want some cash.

He can fight a lot of brits for good money, he has name.

Gvozdyk vs Buatsi will be good fight for now.
