Many American writers have eviscerated Mayweather in the press and called him a chicken and a ducker. Are they doing the same in the UK? While it is not representative of the UK press as a whole, I've read several articles from the Mirror that attempt to shield Haye from criticism. They don't assign any blame, they simply say negotiations didn't work out with the Klitschkos.

Here is an article from the Daily Mail. Similiar articles were published in the Guardian and in the Mirror. In my opinion, the journalists are clearly imputing blame to the Klitschkos. But make up your own mind.

Not at all. The boxing pundits there are Haye apologists for the most part. Bunce being the most obvious.

Ever watch a broadcast of a British fight? The commentary is so biased toward the Brit that it makes the slanted commentary of HBO look upright.

They have a vested interest in not telling the truth about Haye.

They want a homegrown HW champ and Haye has a belt. They will
blame the Klitschkos until doomsday rather than blame Haye.

But I have noticed many fans from the UK jumping off the Haye
bandwagon. Not everyone believes what the UK press tells them.

I've watched Haye's past four fights on British internet channels...I agree. It's pretty terrible.

I'll give Jim Watt on Sky Sports a pass: he called the Valuev-Haye fight for Valuev, as did I.

    Brave man.

Boxing gets extremely little press anyway, if there is anything then it's certainly nowhere near the front or back page.

Obama is too timid and ain't very good, but the alternative to him
    is Sarah Palin....

Draw your own conclusions from that.

That makes sense as he rarely does anything. He used to talk a lot, but he's fairly quiet these days.

You mean the same press that convinced an entire Island that Peter Manfredo was a STAR in the U.S leading up the his fight with Calzaghe?

You fail to comprehend that nobody has even heard of david haye if you asked your average person in the street that is.

Even if they did or didn't savage him nobody cares because nobody cares about boxing here any more, mma and ufc are more popular.

Why is Vitali fighting Briggs? Who else is available and wants to get in the ring with him? Not Haye, not Povetkin, not Valuev, not Adamek.

Sam Peter is fighting Wlad and Vitali already made him quit on his stool.

The only possible name is Solis, and he's another guy nobody has heard of, like Sosnowski and Johnson. Briggs was the only guy available with name recognition and at least the possiblity of providing some competition.
