is it true, that david haye has made the average non-boxing fan less interested in tuning into a boxing event, i'm neutral on haye, i think he's a good personality but i'm less then impressed with him in terms of the excitement he brings, his workrate is abysmal and i feel his power is highly exaggerated by himself and those around him, i'm not a hater of haye, but from the evidence seen i can hardly be a fan of his, e, hayes last 3 fights consisted of fighting a journeyman who has been in the game for 2 decades, a failed Olympian who was on his way to losing to michael sprott and abnormally large beast who was given a gift decision against a 47 year old evander holifield, when haye retires like he says he will i'm sure allot of hardcore fans will breat a sigh of relief

    He is a ****ing joke.

Shame - he got such a precious attiutdte to things - cos he is a talented guy and a big puncher.

If he threw caution to the wind - and fought everyone - he would get knocked out a few times for sure - but he would also win a few too - and would be in some really exciting fights.

    The guys a joke.

He is tied up now with his next "mandtory defence" of the WBA title.

Thing is - cos Haye only fights once or twice a year - nearly every fight he has - is the yearly obligartory - boring Mandtory.

    Consider this...........

Ruiz - mandatory - boring fight

Audely squeezed in between - turned out to be a joke of a fight

Chagev - mandatory - boring fight

The guy will retire having a very unfufllied career - of potential and fights he could have had.

But with a fat bank account - so the bottom line is he is a smart guy and but a fraud of a champion.

Audely might be a crap fighter.

But his words of Haye being a false prophet look to be coming all true.

Consider a couple of years ago - everyone on here - loved Haye and really believed him he was going to fightn the Klitshckos back to back.

Admitted he had a **** chin - but still wanted to put it on the line against the divisons biggest bangers like David Tua , etc

Cringeworthy - but you had posters on here calling him "incredible" for saying these things.

When I pointed out - that before labelling Haye as great as God himself - you might want to actually wait for him to back up his words and fight and beat these guys - I was labelled a Hater.

Truth and time reveals all - Hayes true colours zare showing now - and have been for the last 32 months of ducking Wlad and Vitali.

    whats the problem ?

I come on here and repsond to your OP and kind of agree with your basis of you OP and you just want to throw insults and drag your own thread into the mud ? :-(

    I have never liked Haye.

I remeber rooting for Carl Thompson to beat him.

The guy is way to smug to be likeable. and shown himself up as the bullshitter he is.

The whole idea of this thread is a bit melodramatic. I hardly think David Haye has single handedly 'killed boxing in England'. Why would he have? People tuned in to his fights and as yet it remains to be seen if they'll tune in to his future fights, so there is certainly no demonstrable evidence. Even if people are turned off Haye it does not neccessarily mean they've been turned away from other fighters. If they have they're probably not the type of fans we need anyway, boxing fans know the business and they know some fights are better than others.

Boxing has been dead in this country as a mainstream attraction for 15 years. The BBC and ITV are very much to blame for that.
