When all the truths and half truths and lies and arguements about Haye are over. This above - is the truth about this man. Its nothing new in boxing - min risk / max reward. Sven Ottke - done it for years in Germany. Calzaghe done it for years in Cardiff - before finally delievering on his potential toward the latter of his career with wins over - Lacy, Kelseer and Hopkins and Roy Jones. Haye dosnet care about fighting a Klitshcko - Haye thinks he might win - but why take the risk ? Easier money to made and much less chance of losing fighting the Audelys and the Chagevs. Haye dosent fight for glory. Haye dosent fight for honour. He fights for the easiet / most money - he can get. And will just bull**** whenever it suits him - to pass on questions about Klitshcko fights etc. Yes the man is talented - he is a puncher - and exciting and world class - I would give him a 37.5% chance of beating Wlad...........but - he is not interested in testing himself - putting himself on the line - against a guy who is more than liklely to beat him. At least not these days. I feel a bit sorry for Haye fans - like Rob Palmer , etc - who believed Haye - when he said he was the fighter to lay it all on the line , etc He is a fraud. Most people know it now. Hatton fought for money - and conned and lied - but at least Hatton was willing to fight the Mayweathers and Pacquios for the big money - even if it meant getting knocked out. Haye is not even willing to fight the best for the big money .
In my experience Haye brought back a few casual fans with his big talk, the build up to Valuev etc....however, things have since transpired whereby those casual fans have lost interest again and have walked away. Shame, but they were only casual fans anyway. If you've followed the sport for years you never lose interest. Killed boxing in England? Absolutely not.
This. Never fought anyone of note. Never held a title of note. Only fights twice a year max. He's a part timer, a wannabe and currently he doesn't deserve the attention of the British boxing fan. I feel conned. I bought into his talk about how he was going to take the fights, knock out or be knocked out and breathe some life into the division. 30 months and 4 fights onI'm not impressed. At all.
Yeah I agree fella. I have never been a fan of David Hayes persona. But enjoy his fights - and loved watching him fight Mormeck and Maccarinelli. I was looking forward to him fighting the Klitshckos , etc I believed his talk at the time - not because I had great faith in Haye - but I saw no reason to doubt him .......... after all Who if they are world class dosent want big fights for big money ? However - my bull**** radar was alerted when he pulled out of the Wlad fight in 2009 with his bogus back injury - the lies and progangda and Klitshcko ducking started from there and have gone from strength to strength ever since.
I know this has been said before but hes simply not a big enough part to kill boxing in england he can do some damage but boxing has been damaged before and will come back and personally i think the general public and casual fans will regain interest as soon as they see a knockout highlight reel and a bit of hype. As ive said before eslewhere on this site i think haye and Wlad are just hyping it up so they can make a bomb when they finally fight. But if he doesnt you can hardly call the man a coward for not fighting a man with a huge ko percentage and just a general dangerous fight, hes putting his health on the line when he steps into the ring everytime. Even with weak opposition there is always the possibility he could be v seriously hurt, i dont think he is ducking but if he is i dont blame him, ive ran away from bouncers before its not being a coward its being sensible. Now some peolpe will say "why take on all comers then, dont lie if your just gonna fight bums". Hes the one stepping into the ring if he wants to make a bit more money, get a bit more fame then thats his business and your fault for believeing the hype.
