Has Hopkins ever fought a decent fighter at their own weight class?

It's not even a top 5 win of his, hell, not even at MW. Johnson was a flat out journeyman at the time.

Just Tarver. And his resume would be mediocre, if it wasn't for the wins over a shot Jones.

I would hardly say Calzaghe smacked the **** out of him.

Now English, just because this forum is overloaded with Calzaghe-haters doesn't mean we have to start pissing all over Bernard.

The man's an ATG and a living legend.

Occasionally, he fails to properly mask a bit of an attitude problem, but his greatness is unquestionable.

ANd besides, as a purely practical matter, if you denigrate the executioner, you are implicitly downgrading the significance of one of Joe's more important victories.

Ok, he beat he to a quivering jelly, made he resort to cheating, and just prior to that, ring raped him.

Tarvers fighting weight was at LHW admittedly, but he had just had to lose around 40 pounds to make the weight after taking 20 months off to appear in a film.

I'd only say one great myself in Jones, who beat him.

Rest of the list don't exactly read like the resume of someone applying for work as an ATG does it?

Undefeated journey man? I never heard of that. Glen Johnson was a great win for BHOP and I would put that as his 3rd best.

Agree there the only Great is Jones.

Tarver and Taylor though are more than "Decent"

The rest i wrote i think can be described as "decent".

But youre leaving off Tito,Pavlik,Wright,DLH,Jackson etc on the basis that they didnt start at MW, and thats not how a resume is defined, whether you think it should be or not.
