Has Hopkins Fought Outside The Usa? He Knocks Joe For Not Leaving The Uk But Has He Left His Backyard. Will Hopkins Have Fans In His Backyard? It Sounds Goofy To Me. Boxing Is A Worldwide Sport. All Fighters Need To Leave Their Countries To Fight.

He got put on his ass a couple of times in Ecuador but still drew but Joe has fought in Germany and Denmark and won easily....thats just Hopkins trash talking Joe thats all. They both know theyre good champs and respect each other

Well, he has fought in Ecuador and got a draw fighting Segundo Mercado for the vacant IBF belt. He reversed the rematch stopping Mercado for the title.

Joe has also fought in England many times against English fighters, earlier in his career before he became famous this would have been harder than fighting in Equador.

Yeah when he fought Starrie, Thornberry and Reid he probably had less fans then the challengers did....people dont realise he wasn't always this popular

He Fought Once Or Twice Out Of The Us, But If You Look At The Size Of The Us. If Your From The East Coast Fighting In The West Coast It Can Def Feel Like Your In Another Country, Plus There Is Alot Of Rivalry Between Individual States. And The Us Has Alot Of Fighters That Are Orignaly From Other Countrys.

I don't really see any reason for trash talking either of these guys...they're both legitimate champs with 20 defences of their titles

Calzaghe should win, all he has to watch out for is that straight right Hopkins throws with his head looking down to the floor

The US create very little atmosphere anyway, I wouldnt be too worried about the atmospheres in the US as they are more like libraries than sports events.
The Britsih fans will no doubt make it feel like a fight in Britain for Calzaghe anyway.

I never understood why anyone's performance is supposed to suffer when they fight outside their own country. I find it weird. Damn, they're fighting their opponent, not the crowd! Although I'd imagine a good crowd can be encouraging when they get behind their man, does it really affect anyone so much? Unless the ref is biased of something I see no reason why it should.

Being a musician who's performed all over the place, I never had problems with stage fright when playing outside my home town. I know some people suffer, but I still don't understand why. To be honest, my own performances outside my home town have been the best of all.

Its more the training camp than the fans that disrupt the fighters when they fight abroad
