Has Hopkins officially earned the title "Greatest Middleweight Ever"

    Top 15 definitely. But beating joppy, holmes, tito and hoya isn't enough to make him the greatest.

    Other middleweights have achieved a lot more.

    Monzon and hagler both ruled for longer with more defences. Greb and ruby had better successes at a higher weight.

    Burley was avoided like the plague.

    Being serious now actually you could argue that langford's victories over ketchel and flowers surpass hopkins best victories at middleweight.

    I'd certainly argue that charles beating burley and moore is far superior to any hopkins victory.

    Hopkins is top 15 at mw. If he carries on long enough and beats the right people he might make it at lhw also. His longevity and age are amazing. He is a great great fighter we don't need to hype him up so much.

    Hopkins is my favourite fighter of all time but his resume at middleweight simply isn't good enough for him to be the best of all time. He's right up there with Hagler, Monzon and SRR but I can't see a case for him being made to definitively rank him above them all.

    His accomplishments at Middleweight are the reasons why he is ranked highly at Middleweight. Why would his achievements outside of Middleweight affect/bump up his accomplishments at Middleweight?

    definitely. could and should. Although I'd venture to say a guy like Hearns at MW was a whole lot better than any MW Hopkins ever faced.

    Hopkins beats Greb anyday day of the week. Also, Hopkins was 40 when he lost a controversial decision to Jermain Taylor. Hopkins is 46 and still a P4P great fighter. When most of those people on your list reach 30 they had already peaked and wasn't performing at a high level like Hopkins!

    You actually would pick Greb to beat Hopkins? If so explain? Hopkins does lose to that guy. Hopkins has old time skill mix in with a new style swag!
