Has Hopkins Underprepared/less motivated for Pavlik than usual?

    Just seen the final press conference for Hopkins Pavlik.
    Does anyone think that Hopkins may have underprepared/is less motivated for this fight?
    I seen the HBO countdown program and there is no roache as we know but no mention of working with shilstone either?
    I am just comparing it to when he was in the build up for calzaghe with roache and shilstone. He looked very very motivated with a point to prove against calzaghe.

    I get the feeling from watching it that the same nard edge is not there for some reason or another. Like he thinks he has little chance to win.

    Anyone else think this?

    He just talked less trash and maybe that's why you got this impression...or you maybe right,Shilstone ain't cheap you know.At this point and fight he doesn't need Roach that much anyway.

    Hopkins is never underprepared. That's a big part of what makes him a great fighter.

    Hops will come into the fight in shape and focused as always but at almost 44 it's hard to see him fighting hard for a full 36 minutes, something he will have to do against PAvlik who at 26, is just a lad, i see Pavlik winning a comfortable decision...9-3..

    B-Hop has shown more respect (pre fight) to pavlik than he usually does to his previous opponents

    thats all

    calzaghe fight - the whole race thing
    winky fight - weigh in brawl
    tarver fight - memba watching some verbal abuse be said by either party
    Taylor fights - weigh in words exchanged
    Tito - flag thing

    against pavlik there aint been much said, but rather Hopkins said he is a fan of Pavlik

    it might be part of B-Hop's plan

    thats the reason alright, which sounds to me hopkins is a massively faded man already....

    hopkins is definately not in his prime... but the main reason for not mouthing off at his opponent is tremendous respect.

    remember no matter what hopkins says, deep down he knows this is a really really dangerous fight for him. taylor stunned hopkins in their first fight and took his belts away, even if they were razor close losses. pavlik totally destroyed taylor in their first fight despite getting his brains scrambled bad in the second round.

    hopkins knows this will be a hard fight. he will have to fight a perfect fight, and not make ANY mistakes. if he makes errors, especially in the later rounds, he could be hurt and ko'ed.

    that's why he is silent. he has total respect for pavlik and what the much younger man has achieved against an opponent which beat hopkins.

    He has fought Tito, Tarver and Taylor and look at his antics there.
    I think he may think he cant win this fight. Its not the usual hopkins which is worrying.
