I keep reading people say Cotto broke his nose. As far as I know this is only fan speculation and I have not heard about it from Cotto or his team (although they both have been very quite). Wouldn't there have been a report confirming this injury?

Obviosuly it was busted and bleeding but thats a whole different story then it being broken.

Its Margarito who broke Cotto's nose, if his nose was indeed broken

"Cotto broke his nose" makes it sound like he did it himself, by accident

There was one particular right hand that I'd suspect did it. As Cotto was on the ropes it came as a final punch in a combination. And Cotto took it flush on the beak. The nose was probably busted before that, but that one right hand didn't help matters.

It looked like it, as early as the 1st rd I think. Has Cotto interviewed since the fight? I want to know what his next moves may be.

He's been very quite. He has stated that the better man won that night.
Theres an article on boxing scene. He says that he lost the battle but not the war. And that doing things like working the body is easier said then done- Wasn't mad at his uncle for throwin in the towel. He said he'll be back...probably sometime before the end of the year.

I would like for him to take the rest of the year off (he needs it and deserves it) and see him come back early next year. Have a fight scheduled by the end of the year, that takes place in Jan of 09 sounds like a good plan to me.

Well, his nose sure looked broken the way he was bleeding from nose and mouth. And him being rushed to the hospital and all.
