Has ITV done a REALLY poor job at marketing the Khan fight and boxing in general?

The difference is Warren everytime he just knows how to promote a fight or a fighter better than anyone. Though i would say its a disgrace that nobody knows whats the paper coverage been like for this?

khan's been in the paper alot just like mitchell has but as its been said people i know are talking about mitchell vs katsidis not khan.

all itv need to do is put the weigh in scene on the main news and that should get more viewers in but there's been **** all promotion ive seen apart from on the more local news.

It's probably because Golden Boy gave the fight to ITV for free, when Sky Box Office told Khan to sling his hook elsewhere.

ITV dont care about boxing, they could not even just ad it in the half time breaks or when the pundits are yaping half time maybe they will do it just before the program end's when 90% of the people have changed the channel.

HBO gave the ****'s the feed for free.

That's a very good point. None of the casual boxing fans I know even realise that the fight is happening tonight or that ITV1 is airring it.

Guys - we should let ITV know our views.

I sent an email earlier and got a personalised reply back confirming that my views would be passed onto the marketing/PR team.

Even though the fight has a 2am start, I don't see why ITV wouldn't have still advertised it and put on a replay during primetime the next day. Didn't Khan deliver them huge numbers (i heard 6m viewers) back in the primetime days fighting the likes of Earl and Gomez

It's quite ironic that when he's finally stepped up in class and ITV would be able to generate good numbers from casual fans (even on a primetime replay) - they choose not to advertise it. Muppets.

Please voice your disappointment at ITVs lack of boxing coverage :good

You'd be hard pushed to find a casual boxing who knows that the fight is on ITV tomorrow morning.

    ITV have been pretty appalling.

They've put absolutely zero effort into it, the only reason i know it's on ITV is cause I heard it on here.

It's also the promoters job to promote and I can't even remember if Golden Boy had a press conference here. They should have had open workouts too. You got to give people a reason to stay up until 4 in the morning!

Still haven't mentioned it on the FA cup final programme....what a ****ing joke!!

ITV have definitely missed a trick the muppets....there are lots of casual fans that would tune into this fight if only they knew it was on terrestrial tv.

This just underlines how little value the major UK channels are placing on boxing. It is a shame to see ITV lose interest so intensely (their free Big Fight Live events, featuring the likes of Eubank and Benn, made me a fan of boxing).

Khan got 6 million viewers against Kindelan before he turned pro, more than the last 3 seasons of Big Brother could manage. I just don't understand this lack of support for boxing.

No, was on the press relese that its Rawling and McKenzie, worse luck:roll:

If we didn't have those two it would most likely have been the international feed comms anyway.
