I am trying to solve the conundrum of parker. Explain how a man who hits that fast, doesn't put guys out sooner? He looks like he hits hard, but the damage is not there.
Absolutely not. I couldn't believe the elation on Kevin Barrys face when they stopped the fight. Barry should have been disappointed in Joe and himself. Barry is doing the same thing he did to David Tua. He is keeping Joe close to him and using him to get paid.
He's just not a great fighter. Ok, He's there with the majority of others in the division, but he's not ever going to be the stand out guy.
Yes. His manager and trainer are Crack heads who are having a laugh and funding their habits off parkers purses. He needs to get away from them
I have been biting my lip on this one and thinking about it, but if there was ever a fight where I was going to say that I felt like Parker had kept his side of the bargain and that it was clear Barry was the weak link - I think it was this one. Parker looked like he did all the things which were asked of him, it wasn't a perfect performance but he was never in trouble and beat shades of shxt out of Leapai at different paces as dictated by Barry. I really would like to see him change trainers, and it pains me that it's not likely to happen. ****, just getting someone else in as extra input where Parker may realise that while Barry has done good work with him - he really doesn't seem like he quite has what is necessary to nudge up a level which Parker may have the potential to do with the right advice and focus. Previously I've not felt so much that way, but it seems that Parker's drive has gone up to a level which it wasn't previously and it seemed more like the weakest link was in the corner this time.
Oh absolutely. Before the fight, they talked about winning well and we all know that meant a knock out win. Barry's look confirmed to me that there will be no improvement. A mixture of mediocrity and complacency on Kevin Barry's part. They said they wanted to do 3 fights this year. Next two better be good.
Kevin Barry's just a stick in the mud old man who's got his teeth and claws in Parker real good and won't let go. And Parker's a naive nice guy that can't contemplate 'betraying' Barry to get with another trainer. This has been the case for years, but it's only become more obvious now. Parker still has a ton of unrealised potential that a better trainer could bring out of him before it's too late, but the longer he stays with Barry the older he gets and the more entrenched stylistically he becomes. I said a while back that Parker is destined to be this generation's HW nearly man, someone who we'll look back on and wonder what he might have achieved if things had been just a little different.
