...rest, recover, train, and move up to light middleweight to mount a decent challenge against Canelo - bearing in mind he's pretty much just a 140-pounder, and that the Ortiz fight itself was a tough, gruelling affair?

And if you were in his corner, how would you have im approach the fight?

He looked healed up by the presser a weak or so ago. Lopez has just gotta keep his hands up good and outwork Canelo because Canelo has a bad habit of fighting in spurts kind of like Ortiz was doing in the Lopez bout.

And which is why IMO Canelo got a break when Williams was in his accident, that was a more dangerous bout because of Williams' workrate.

Lopez being the naturally smaller guy gives him the luxury of training strictly for gameplan though, I'll still be watching regardless.

He looks well healed at the moment.

    But thats pretty much irrelevant.

3 months,5 months,8 months whatever the time he had to recover wouldnt change a thing.

He would get his ass beat regardless.

Too small and not good enough.

no. thats what really makes this fight ****. the ortiz fight was a war and **** oscar for making josesito move up another class along with bigger gloves. lopez was fighting 140 pound eight-rounders a year and a half ago.

lopez has no shot here and gbp is parlaying the one-in-a-lifetime-win into some sort of canelo legitimate fight.

    its sickening and ****ing bull****.

both vanes and lara are ready to go. quillan and trout as well.

    ****ing buill****.

With the brutal nature and damage sustained in his fight against Ortiz, that's not enough time. But even if he was given, what, a good 5 or 6 months. 154 is too big of a jump at this point in his career, so no matter how much recovery time he's given, he is not going to be effective against Canelo, IMHO.

If I was his trainer, I would try to focus on boxing and fighting from the outside avoiding as much inside fighting as possible. Working behind a jab and double jab, But I know that's not Josecito's style. Lopez like to fight.

If Lopez was any kind of threat, I doubt Canelo would be fighting him. This is how many fights in a row against guys from lower weight classes?

I know Lopez will show up ready to fight and give it his all. He will be the only redeeming thing about this whole affair.

    Decent challenge? Highly doubt it.

Just don't think he is big enough. How much does Canelo weigh on fight night? Ortiz can't be far off that weight on fight night, can he?

I hope Lopez puts up a good account of himself, can't see the upset though.

To be fair, he was matched up against Williams before that unfortunate accident.

Nothing against Canelo or anything, but I so badly want Josesito to win this. Would be the best result of the year. ****, it'll even make him the fighter of the year!

    :good

Me too. I'm just disgusted with the way they are handeling him as of now, treating him like a prospect and not a true champ.

But in reality I think Canelo is going to destroy Lopez.
