I appreciate what you're saying about Alvarez's level of competition, but on the other hand, I also like the fact that Lopez is getting the big fight and payday promised to the guy he just beat rather than any of the available junior middles who have largely been treading water for the past 2 years.

    Good stuff :good

I'll have to check out the Ortiz fight again. In which I was mostly focusing on what Ortiz was doing, rather than Josesito.

And good point about him possibly not being in the best of shapes against Ortiz. With Canelo, like someone else has already said, he should try focusing on what his prime weight is and what he operates the most effective at. Train to be in the best condition of your life, rather bulking up and matching an opponent that's at least two divisions bigger than you.

let's not be naive here. lopez will be destroyed. he beat the guy who was going to face the guy, and now he's getting a payday accordingly. he's going to be systematically trounced by canelo.

I wouldn't say I'm being naive. Just a bit too hopeful, maybe.

Lose-Lose situation for Canelo, but should Lopez make the upset, then we'll have fighter of the year even if he losses to 1000 bums rest of 2012 :)

    Speculation, speculation everywhere!

I think Canelo won't win easily, even if he get his best condition,
that's because Josesito is not weak, slow and silly.

its hard to say who will be the winner, if both fighters fight with the styles we've seen,
definitely the fight will not last 12 rounds.

Erik Morales kicked Pacquiao's ass ONLY 3 months after losing in a HUGE war against Barrera.

I just read that the great Harry Greb once fought FORTY FIVE fights in one year.

    !

I think Lopez will be just fine.

I hope he's able to dance around the lumbering Gingican, and give him a boxing lesson.
Probably not, but it would be a wonderful thing to see.
