The concept of letting a fight marinate has nothing to do with diva behavior. It inherently need not be a power play on the part of either party, as it usually is for mutual gain (let's wait until we can both earn a whole lot more for having the same fight, being the prevailing mentality). The marinating process is part of what boosts the combatants (and in theory moreso the winner) into elitehood, so you're looking at this backwards thinking only established elites "deserve" to do so.
Neither guy is afraid of the other.. The difference is Eddie Hearn is doing his job as a promoter(I want the fight now btw).. He’s planned out a financial portfolio for AJ that only Canelo can rival in the current boxing landscape. This is no different that what Bob was doing with PAC and Oscar is currently doing with Canelo.. Ima huge Wilder fan but I understand that Joshua can stall him out for another 2 yrs while making big money fighting other people..
If anybody wants a fight to marinate it is the promoter. By not giving fans what they want, the fans want it even more. More demand = more money when the fight is ultimately delivered.
how in the heck do you figure fury earned the right to still be champ? had a staring match with the only (semi) live body he ever faced? then ran for the pubs and drug houses.
