Witter only showed flashes of being world class, but for the most part he has this cocky/lazy style that, like someone mentioned, enabled him to coast to decisions over contenders and Euro level opposition. he was finally punished for his lazy/cocky style against Bradley because Bradley was a really hungry fighter. I still don't rate Bradley that highly at all, he gets by on pure determination and conditioning...which actually, is more than some fighters have. In short, Witter was done the moment they read the score cards at the Bradley fight.
He should just fight at the Euro level for a while untill he bulds back up to World, then if he loses again then he's a gatekeeper.
hes always been a gatekeeper....a world champion nowadays, legitimately, is someone who conquers a division. hes spent the last 10 years whining that hatton and mayweather won't fight him...but never wanted to make the moves they did and ended up where he is now. its his own fault....even before this loss.
can't help but agree. i might give him contender but he didn't hold a belt long enough to make an impression. i think his performances lately have made his place in boxing more clear. he was always a contender, good enough to get in the ring with the best of the division but never win or even dominate other top 10 fighters. he's a gatekeeper now and if he had stepped up earlier in his career, he would have been a gatekeeper before this
I just got done reading that Witter was garunteed a unification match against Khan if he won, I actually made a thread about that about a month ago but I guess were not seeing that and Khan won't fight Alexander.
