I think we should stop mentioning his name, it's just giving him the free publicity that he wants. He's been toying with the Boxing media and fans for 2 years now. I personally don't think he's ever going to fight again. If he fights on the Wilder Fury undercard i would be genuinely shocked. But that's not going to happen. He had a good run as a boxer, and he'd make an excellent commentator but he doesn't need to be in the discussion anymore when talking about the current 147 lb division. All his talk of needing 2 tuneups and my arm still hasn't healed, I'm waiting to get clearance from my Dr, etc before he can fight a legit opponent, he's stringing us along.
What happened to what Porter said in reference to Spence, "..this gon' be the easiest fight to make..."?
Enjoying the easy money he's made. Thurman knows there isn't any competition for him at 147, so he just took an extended break. He most likely knows that after a tune up match or two that Crawford and Spence are easy pickings and money for him, since Crawford can't punch at 147 and Spence has poor defense and stamina. Keith Thurman Purses from March 2015- March 2017 $6.4 Million Danny Garcia - $2 million for a non competitive fight Shawn Porter - 1.4 million for a somewhat competitive fight, but still pretty easy for Thurman. Luis Collazo - $1.5 million for an easy fight. Robert Guerrero - $1.5 million for an easy fight.
When has any Matchroom card ever had an unbeaten unified champ with worldwide name recognition on the undercard again?
My old trainer said about good amateur boxers "once they get a girlfriend and a car, they are done, they cant box for **** anymore" ahahahahaha.
Poor Keith. Thought he would wait it out until Brook was shot by weight draining..... Then his younger American brother turns up on the scene.
You're missing the point kid. It's not a case of better. It's a case of getting more attention and selling more PPVs. Have a think about it yeah?
Wtf are you talking about? Collazo, Guerrero and Porter all hurt him. Those were grueling fights. None of those were easy nights for Thurman. But he was clearly the better man on every occasion. Thurman is likely enjoying his money, knowing when he comes back he can beat anyone. P.S. Crawford 2(2)-0 at WW in title fights. Thurman is 4(1)-0. So logic says Crawford has some pop in his shots. (Even if Thurman´s resume is better at 147)
