Kessler seems to have become mentally complacent leading into that fight, and he paid the price. I think he has enough to beat most everyone in the tournament, though -- and he poses a real problem for Abraham if he's on his game -- but he simply can't deal with angles. Ward fought a great fight and certainly did benefit from the head clashes, but he would have won anyway. Kessler was never in it. All credit to Ward, who in 2007 looked like he might go bust. I'm happy for him and for we American fight fans as well. He seems like a good kid.
He loses to all three. Kessler isn´t the same guy who obliterated Beyer, beat up Mundine and Andrade. He slipped, mostly due to beeing to inactive an fighting inferior opposition. Ward has many natural talent and he is very good, although he is a bit sloppy and his defence isn´t good. Add to that the style advantage of Ward. Calzaghe showed that Kessler can be beaten with fast hands, a high workrate and when you break his rythm. Ward has fast hands, a high workrate and his dirty tactics broke Kessler´s rythm.
a bit of both really, ward looked real good from the clips ive seen, kessler looked pretty rusty and not sharp
