I'd say that Manny has improved his defense or at least some aspects of it. He has more patience and discipline thus he's more focused on the gameplan as shown by his last two fights. He has better lateral movement and better timing.

Sure he probably be will never be as good defensively like Floyd but do you really want Manny Pacquiao to fight like PBF? Manny is an aggressive, balls-out fighter and that's why we love him.

His defense has improved over the years.

But JMM is another animal altogether.

even when he fought david diaz, he methodically broke him down and showed superb footwork. he keeps his arms higher, more head movement, and uses his jab more instead of rushing in like he used to. him darting in and out and attacking from different angles reduces his chances of getting punched cleanly, only jmm has been able to do that recently

It probably has improved and it would be ridiculous to say it hasnt. Though I think its been overrated due to diaz and hoya's lack of defense.

Just pointing out facts. Thats all. When you stop being objective thats when it shows that you lack boxing knowledge. Like stating taht Pacs defense hasnt improved.

Another thing, Pac is the best fighter in the world, boxing experts are comparing him with Armstrong. He is climbing the ATG ranks while he's still in prime and improving. Another fighter of the year award. p4p#1.

In other words he is top of the food chain, all his fans and supporters are all justified for now.

Now being objective that I am, if Pac is somehow the 13th best fighter in the world and pacfans are gassing him up the way they are now, then i think thats ******ed.

For example, Im a diehard NY Giants fan..no one can offend me. Why??,because my team is the Superbowl Champion. Same with Pac. Thats fan psychology 101.

Im merely pointing out the garbage that people spews, all fantasy and all speculation with no basis. This board is getting out of hand, Im just helping clean it up a little

I don't think its improved but he has become smarter with it. His footwork and head movement were always there but he used it intelligently v DLH and thus showed us a better defence.

no, he fought David Diaz and a completely useless DLH since that fight. lets see him in with another skilled counter puncher before making this assessment.

Well, Pacquiao wasn't careless during his fight with Marquez.

eto na naman tayo bro. i have nothing against you agreeing with divac, sometimes i agree with him too. my problem is, you don't have to quote your fellow pinoy and bash him (like you did to chimba)
we knew that you dont like pac, but please dont treat fellow pinoy posters like that. you know that it's not our thing, right?

I saw that too. Its as if he's helding back his punches for the gameplan.
