What the **** did you just say? :huh

None of that means he's improved. It's very difficult to say if somebody improved their defence in such a short period unless there is evidence of fighting guys with the same speed and offence capability as Marquez had. Better yet, fight Marquez again and we'll know for sure.

It probably has improved, Pacquiao seems to improve his boxing skill all the time so I wouldn't be surprised. But it certainly hasn't been proven yet.

the premise of the thread seems to indicate that pac's D started to improve only after the 2nd marquez fight which is totally wrong. pac's D has been steadily improving since the 1st morales fight. that's why if you compare his defense in the first and second jmm fights, you will see a noticable improvement in their rematch.

we also have to remember that marquez is the #2 p4p fighter in the world. so, it would therefore be impossible for pac to fight anybody else of jmm's ability. all of his other possible opponents will always be below the level/ability of jmm.

that's why pac's close fights w/ jmm should even further his legacy as being an elite p4p fighter and vice-versa. when #1 and #2 fight, it should always be close. if not, then one of them isn't worthy of that position.

They can be below Marquez' level, but still have good offensive capability. Then we'll find out more about his defence.

When it came down to it Diaz and Oscar were just really ****ing slow and both got the **** beaten out of them. They barely mounted serious attacks. That says a lot of Pac's performance, but not whether his defence has improved.

if you had said since the 2nd Morales fight, i would have said yes. But since the 2nd Marquez fight i don't think there has been a significant improvement. Just that now he has faced the opponents that have really made his defense shine.

I would agree with that. I can't say I've noticed any difference since Marquez II, its too short of a period and he's not been tested to the extent he's needed defence. Although I did like his head movement against Hoya, it seemd sharper than usual, but I'd like to see how it holds up against Marquez again before declaring anything.

It's his overall skills that have been improving for a long time. I remember the buzzsaw version of Pacquiao that had a straight left and great physical qualities. That was it. Now he's far more well rounded, even his jab is excellent.

Theres no way of telling - he first needs to find an opponent who actually punches back.

It's not his fault that they don't punch back or was hitting air.
