No...he was never that good...and in front of technical fighters his flaws are exposed...
in front of a scarecrow he looks like Goku, Superman & Madara Uchiha all in one...

He is more politician than fighter these days imo, and it's for this reason that I think he has lost a step and has appeared to slow down despite not actually declining that much physically.

He still has his talent and so far still has most of his physical attributes but I think he's fooling himself and trying to convince himself that he's still as hungry and as passionate about fighting as he used to be. He isn't.

Ever since the Cotto fight, there is just too much talk about him being satisfied with what he has achieved in boxing, and also too much talk about retiring.

To me, his last 3 fights clearly shows that he has lost that inner fire that defined him.
He opted not to finish off Margarito in the late rounds. He didn't pressure and force Mosley to fight, and he was hesitant to take the openings presented to him when JMM was off balance, flat footed and resetting.
All these things are very un-Pacman like.

I think he might have lost a lil speed over natural decline but still would be the faster boxer 9 times out of 10.

I dont see a significant decline...as his competition steps up and a more lets say variety of opponent is offered to him....i say we start to see a different fighter.

he has been steadily on the decline since the margo fight. 17 years of ring age, too many ring wars and a style not suited for longevity. he has been a part time politician part time boxer since last year. cotto is his utmost peak imo.

I am a huge fan and have noticed a change in his style in mosley and jmm. Losing a step is not a bad word for it. also maybe the gym rat is moving on.

No. I don't think people who fight like Pacquiao can always have a good night when they box. Not even in terms of ability, just how his skills can work against him. Fighting guys like Oscar, Hatton, Cotto, Clottey and Marg spoiled him. It allowed for him to have his way without really having to worry about being beaten up or facing trouble. Then when he faces Shane and JMM, they don't give him the kind of fight he wants so he loses patience, fights desperately and loses his cool

This is the Most Unbelievable **** I have EVER seen in the ESB General Forum. And if you guys know the ESB GF, that's saying alot. I created this thread with an attached poll specifically to see how hypocritical the ESB GF really is (although for the record, no threads and/or poll was really necessary to confirm this). I recall very well and just in case my memory was a little off, I strolled through some old threads and post going back to prior to Manny Pacquiao's recent fights...and what did I see from the same group of nuthuggers that have Now been claiming (great timing by the way) that their Idol has lost a step, slowed and declined.

I could not find ONE POST AND/OR THREAD claiming that **** Prior to November 12th!!! In fact what I saw was how Amazingly sharp, skillful and gifted Manny looked versus Cotto, Clottey, Margarito and Mosley. Rembember threads titled: "BANG BANG BANG" and Throwing 1000 punches in a fight, destroying a mans eye, making a Hall of Famer run like a girl...those are the threads/post I remember. These posters were posting videos and gifs showing his awesome, great and blinding hand speed and marveling at how amazing he is. Not one ****ing poster mentioned his decline leading up to the JMM. In fact they were posting training videos prior to the JMM fight just to show how Amazing Pacquiao looked and ALL OF THEM Predicted a PACQUIAO KO!!! And remember this piece of genius from the *******s: "JMM doesn't belong above 140lbs. He's too small and Pacquiao is now a FULL-FLEDGED WELTERWEIGHT. This will be an easy KO for Manny".

So fast-forward alter the JMM fight, every "real knowledgable" boxing fan was saying the same **** they have been since DAY-ONE, "Manny is the same exact fighter he has always been...Fast hands, but awful technique, Sloppy, with a ton of flaws". And instead of these *******s acknowledging that there has been NO IMPROVEMENT...Which I kind of knew they wouldn't, the one thing I have learned about Nuthuggers, they stand firm. But you would think they would give JMM some credit for fighting an Amazing fight...right? Instead, what is their latest "PACQIAOISM" (that's the new word I created for their statements filled with contradictions and excuses) So again, what's their latest PACQUIAOISM: "Pacquiao has slowed, lost a step and has declined". when in reality, its just a very clever way of creating documentation on record for excuses for when the INEVITABLE HAPPENS. No need to say it, because we all know it...and so do the *******S.

Nah, JMM just made him look like he's slipping.

Put him there against a Margarito or a Hatton and he will look like a prime peak version. :deal
