I dont think that Margarito is the type to diss his trainer in public..... I saw several of his interviews right after the Mosely fight, and he did'nt look concerned at all about the wraps being confiscated...... .....Margarito then even said, "it was nothing, they did'nt like the way they were wrapping my hands and they made us re-do them, thats all there is to it"...... ....at the hearing when Margarito was confronted with the evidence and told to explain it, he said...."its just guaze and tape."......but then the commission handed Margarito the knucklepad, and he admitted that they did felt more than just guaze and tape...that they were firm. ......this may have been the first time that Margarito may have realized, "****, what the hell happened, why do they feel that way?" It is at this very time that Capetillo admitted for the first time of having made a terrible mistake. Quite frankly I dont know whether Margarito knew about it or not......but his actions since the wraps were confiscated, and even some in the commision and the actual inspector that was present to inspect the wrapping procedure, confided that they believe Margarito likely did'nt know that his wraps were being loaded. Its one thing to say that you dont believe Margarito.....that he knew all along.....thats fine, but dont come in here claiming "how could he not know that he had rocks in his wraps?" .....thats not the case here.....what was found in the wraps was a powdery substance that had the potential to turn hard during the course of the fight.......Margarito was'nt feeling anything hard in his fists.....it had'nt and it still to this day has'nt become hard. The person that I believe the most during all of this was Shane Mosely's testimony.....he said, "it looked like a regular knucklepad to me, it was'nt hard, but had the potential to turn hard!" ....this is word for word what Mosely said right after the fight and before the hearing..... Mosely imo turns out to be more credible that Nazim Richardson who called the knucklepads "blocks"......when at the hearings, it was found that commission inspectors had noted that they were firm and hard, but not rock hard..... The point being is that if Margarito did'nt know about it, which is possilbe, how could he feel that they were out of the ordinary if they were'nt rock hard? Maybe Margarito knew about it, and maybe he did'nt.....but I do know one thing......in a court of law, there would be reasonable doubt, and therefore you could'nt convict him!
Again, get informed......the knucklepads were brought out of Capetillo's bag with the inserts already inside the knucklepad........the inserts were not discovered until Richardson asked to feel the knucklepad on the second hand being wrapped. .....so the answer is that nobody in the room, in that includes Margarito, Richardson and the inspectors, could see the insert in the knucklepad......it was spotted because Richardson asked to feel it! ......and really, when you think about it, why would'nt an opposing trainer ask to feel a knucklepad that had been pre-made outside his presence..... .....I'd think any trainer worth his salt would have asked to have felt that knucklepad.
Do i believe Margo never questioned his trainer on suspicious prior handwraps, HELL NO! :nono Do i believe his trainer misled Margo with illegal information and deceiving his fighter! HELL YES! :good Do i believe Margo knew something was not right, but didn't give a ****, and took advantage of illegal handwraps, HELL YES! :yep Do i believe they both should be fed to the lions, HELL YES! :thumbsup
I think it's obvious Margarito has known all along. Guy's been with for what?...10+ years? It's hard to believe that Margo didn't notice anything ever.
