i cant really recall mayweather receiving a gift descision (although he rarely took challanges) unless you consider mayweather vs. Castillo 1 a gift descision (i guess it could be) pacquiao has however received a gift descision imho. Pacquiao was losing and was even knocked down when he fought nidal hussein a fight that took place in the phillipines, the fight was stopped on a cut that hussein received i believe in the 10 th round. Pacquiao looked to be having trouble in this fight and was on his way to receiving in all likelyhood a dubious decision in his favor when the referee stopped the fight saving pacquiao. One could also argue that pacquiao vs. Marquez 2 (a fight i attended) was a gift desicision that pacquiao received ( i had pacquiao winning pac vs. Marquez 1 by a point. The second fight i felt was a draw.) now this being said i am a big fan of freddie roach and manny pacquiao. Floyd is a great pugilist but he does it to himself with all the things he has done (i lost alot of respect for him with the rascist comments he made about pacquiao) what do you think?

I'd say Marquez 2 was a small gift considering the swing rounds had Manny as the aggressor but JMM landing the cleaner counters, and Castillo definitely also being a gift decision. Other than that, Mayweather doesn't give enough offensive opportunities for him to be outworked. In the Oscar fight, his defensive inactivity almost worked against him on the cards, but there haven't been many other examples of this popping up.

The ref did not stop the Hussein fight, the ring physician did. Nedal had a cut on his face in the shape of a cross and was on its way to looking like the Vitali Klitschko cut that Lennox Lewis inflicted on him. Pac was ahead in that fight despite the knockdown. Hussein should have been DQ numerous occassions for rough housing tactics. The referee for that fight was world class, Carlos Padilla, who refereed Thrila in Manila as well as numerous world title fights. He actually gave Hussein many breaks and ignored many of his tricks.

He also managed to turn 20 seconds into an 8-count.

Castillo - mayweather I wasn't a gift decesion, I had it close for Castillo but it was to close to call it a gift.

Boxing is an opinionated sport when it comes to close matches.

Critics says that Floyd vs. Castillo I is a robbery more than JMM vs. Pac II.

Floyd Sr. in the post fight interview of ODLH vs. FMJ claims that the SD is a robbery, he said Oscar is controlling the pace.
