An undefeated cotto at his best and prime weight of 147 and not a cotto after two wars and stoppage. Let me teach some boxing history. It was the #1 fight back then and people were demanding that floyd fight cotto after cotto beat mosley and floyd beat hatton. It was even the biggest fight in boxing back then circa 2007 or 2008 iirc. Floyd just put a lame excuse that cotto was not a draw and took a long vacation.

Cotto said Bob Arum never brought it up when he was with Top Rank. Cotto admitted it was never even discussed ON HIS END, not Floyd's. :hi: And again: THE FIGHT HAPPENED REGARDLESS AT 154. It's a moot point.

If you don't understand Floyd's retirement timeline was completely based around Oscar's rematch clause, then you really are lost. You do know the month he announced his comeback, was the same month Oscar's rematch clause ran it's course right? Obviously not.

Floyd's team said cotto was not a draw and took a long vacation. Please stop excusing floyd for not fighting guys he is supposed to be fighting. If floyd wants it, he can arrange it.

Floyd was due to fight Oscar for a rematch when he retired. Fighting Cotto was not going to happen that year. That is a fact. Stop making **** up. You've been exposed.

Mayweather retired and waited for the rematch clause portion of the contract with Oscar to expire. As soon as it did, he announced his comeback. It's not rocket science.

Pugs: "I think Manny Pacquiao's 147 resume is awesome, even though over half of his opponents were not even ranked."

I think it's a lame excuse. Remember that floyd is promoted by GBP back then so a big fight with cotto would be ok for oscar if it was arranged.

Again: Floyd was "obligated under contract" to rematch Oscar later that year. He retired to get out of it. It's obvious as heck.

Your explanation of a possible scenario is also devoid of reality.

    Let me explain:

So Oscar was going to sit down and let Cotto fight Floyd instead of exercising his rematch? Why? So Oscar would make "less money" and Cotto and Top Rank could make "more money?" Makes ZERO sense.

Why would Bob Arum make the fight, when he already admitted previously he wasn't interested in working with Oscar? Remember, it was Bob Arum that had the opportunity to resign Floyd Mayweather... And you would have had the bouts you asked for. Bob refused. If you want me to get Bob's quote, I will. Bob Arum turned down a request from Floyd to pay him for Hatton, Cotto, Margarito, and Oscar.

Again, you're living on Fantasy Island. Your dislike for Mayweather is clouding your judgement.

You're making it sound that TR and GBP is always at war. Just look back who cotto defeated prior to the call of this cotto-may fight at WW. Yes it's mosley and it was a co-promotion event.

"Arum said while Mayweather would have taken the $8 million to fight Margarito, he asked for a $10 million guarantee to fight opponents such as Miguel Cotto and Ricky Hatton, when Arum was only willing to guarantee $7 million.

Arum said Mayweather also asked for $20 million to fight De La Hoya, a fight Arum said he wasn't interested in participating in.

"That's not in the cards," Arum said. "He wants $20 million for the De La Hoya fight? It's not there. Sometimes, my man, you gotta know when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em. We'll talk about things down the road."

YOU HAVE ZERO POINT. :deal Mayweather was going to sign a deal that would have made him LESS MONEY than he actually made without Top Rank to fight these guys. Think about it.

Can you please explain why you feel Manny Pacquiao's resume at 147 is anything of note considering your attacks on Mayweather's resume? Who has the better 147 pound resume? Pac or Floyd? You keep ducking the question.

It was floyd who doesn't work with arum. Arum has no problem working with floyd. You're giving floyd a pass for ducking fighters that is with arum. Now that he's fighting pac, it was seen that it's ****ible for floyd to fight arum's tr fighters.

So if floyd is all about the money then, why forego a rematch with oscar? Why avoid a ww cotto when it was the biggest fight not only at WW but in the whole of boxing back then?

Please stop defending floyd's retirement to avoid quality WW opposition.

You really need to learn how to read. Floyd was willing to sign a contract with Top Rank, that would have ultimately made him LESS MONEY, than he actually earned by leaving Top Rank to fight the guys you claim he "ducked at the time." Do you have any idea how ridiculous that cold reality makes your argument sound?

The only reason that didn't happen, was because Bob Arum refused to make the deal. BOB ARUM's OWN WORDS!!! :deal

Just stop. You're a joke dude, and so biased you're defending Manny Pacquiao for fighting 60% of his fights at 147 against unranked opposition. UNRANKED!!!! FIVE HAD NEVER WON A FIGHT at 147.

I don't know why people keep bringing this up, Judah was already scheduled to fight Floyd before the loss to Baldomir.

Anyone that brings this up clearly didn't follow boxing at that time.

So it's ok to forego big moneyed fights and took long vacations instead when you claim to be "money mayweather".

All I heard are excuses why floyd didn't fight them WWs. All I hear are excuses why he took long vacations instead of fighting the best.

People harp on Mayweather fighting Judah after a loss yet claim he ducked Mosley,Williams, & Margarito in 07/8 yet all 3 of them took an L during that time frame.
