None of the fighters he fought that where post prime looked washed up before they fought him. in fact most fighters had big wins or looked very good in their last fight.

Also Cotto with Diaz is looking fantastic, he's fixed a lot of the flaws he had previously and is certainly a better version of himself than he was a few years ago, not too dissimilar to Wladimir Klitschko, who suffered 2 brutal knockouts before getting together with Steward and correcting a lot of the errors he had in his game and utilising his natural abilities to fulfil his potential.

Wladimir's prime was in the Haye fight, at 34 years of age, after 3 brutal knockouts.

A loss or two does not = shot, or out of prime

im a big big Hatton fan, seen all of his fights bar 4-5 of his early ones, Hatton was prime when Mayweather fought him.

SO Oscar looked shot? So how did he look when he was weight drained at 147? How did Mosley look after he lost to PBF by near shutout? In fact all the fighters looked really good going into the fight and it was only afterwards when haters revise history and say he took no serious challenges.

Name one fighter, in his division, since he fought Chico that he would have been an underdog? He fought Cotto and Oscar at their best weights (154) and came in at 150 for both fights. everybody is a "carefully matched" when you are favoured to beat them. EVERY fighter listed was looked upon as a threat going into the fight.

 

Arrording to that logic, Hatton was past it at about 26 when he was still fighting average fighters in Britain.

He was 28 when he fought Mayweather, went on to dominate LWW no.2 at the time Paulie Mallignaggi over a year after that fight.

He was prime as prime can be.

Cotto was still pretty close to prime judging by his performance.

Mayweather said he is confident he can beat Wright, who last fought as a middleweight and won all 12 rounds against Trinidad.

"What makes Winky such a great fighter is that he is a good boxer," Mayweather said. "But he's not a big, big puncher. He should have stopped Trinidad. That's how I feel.
