I'm all for that. 14 day cut off for blood testing with unlimited urine, hair, saliva up until the fight and then a post fight blood test should be enough.

    Let's get this fight signed.

random urine testing was always part of Pac's offer with the drug testing fiasco.

there was no reason for the topic of drug testing to be brought up before december. honestly i have only been closely following boxing for 3-4 years, and i was under the impression that the testing was seriously strict, random blood and urine right up to the fight which is what you would expect from a sport where you can get killed. i thought nobody was doing it and thats why it was rare to hear about someone testing positive, when actually its more likely that the testing is just a pile of ****. and even when they do test positive or admit to taking band substances, they are let of the hook. In my opinion Roy Jones Jnr, James Toney and Shane Mosley are in the same category as Antonio Margorito. Ali Funeka and Juilio Cesar Chavez Jnr tested positive in there last fights this year, both will box again in 2010.

i can understand why people don't like the Mayweathers. Floyd snr is a former drug dealer, crook the lot. He is not an educated or articulate man but there is one thing he knows and that is boxing and on ALL boxing matters his opinion is credible. Floyd Jnr may be insisting on testing for personal gain, he may genuinely be scared of Manny, and other wrong reasons and not an attempt to clean up the sport which he claims, but if we end up with random blood testing as standard for major world title fights it is still a good thing. it would still be cleaning up the sport.

the standard of performance enhancing drugs is incredible and the science that goes into creating them continues to be better than the science that goes into detecting them. to think with such a basic level of testing, and such a high level of drug, that it is not being used in boxing by a significant number of fighters would be nieve. to completely disregard the notion that certain drugs can not be beneficial a week before a fight, or cannot go undetected after 24 hours is also nieve.

Am I suspicious of Manny Pacquiao after all this. Unfortunately yes. Some of the reasons for not taking random blood tests that have come from himself, his team and trainers have been alarmingly weak. His strength and conditioning coach Alex Ariza has been involved in steroid scandals before, and his coach Freddie Roach has trained fighters that have tested positive for banded substances. By not taking the test it has cost him $30mil. I am not saying that Pacquiao is 100% doing anything wrong, but there is doubt on my mind and unfortunately it makes me question his achievements.

i don't really understand what the argument is against Mayweather. people saying he should go by the testing of the Nevada commission, because even a die hard Pacquiao fan would agree that the level of testing is not good enough. They say why change it for this fight, why not, its the biggest fight in 20 years why not set a precedent. People are saying he has ulterior motives, it really doesn't matter if we get the right result.

Pacquiao may feel weak after having blood withdrawn, but he is a PROFESIONAL athlete and he should accept that a high standard of drug testing is needed.

1)Would i rather see Mayweather vs Pacquiao with full random blood testing up to the day of the fight.....YES.

    2) Would boxing be a better sport if all World title fight boxers had to undergo random testing.......YES.

anyone that disagrees with the last two points.........then in the words of my mate Dan "your just another ESB **** talking ****"

14 day cut off is pointless, and no one has yet made me feel otherwise

The USADA issued no such statement. Trygart stated that it is the option of the USADA. There is no official cutoff date, random is RANDOM and can be up until the day of the fight.

Please stop with the bull**** propaganda. If Pac is clean, he takes the tests, no cutoff.

If Pac is/was dirty, Floyd and his team should have put forth some evidence before maligning his reputation. But hey, they didn't, and **** like that doesn't work, right?

Only Team Pacquiao negotiate through the media, Team Mayweather don't. Why should they talk to the public with negotiations still ongoing?

Yeah, and loose the fighting advantage. Loose the mental advantage too, as Floyd will bully him every change he gets, that Pac bowed like a dog on testing protocols, even gave more than his previous offer (14-days) - how desperate of pac, etc.

If you are aware that Pac rejected the previous 14-days offer and "legitimately" wants to see this fight as a "genuine" fight fan. Your side should be: Floyd should take the offer and experts' opinion should scientifically better than mine - i just want to see the fight.

Up to the day of the fight is pointless too. How long does it take to get the result of the blood test.? Few hours or days ? By the time they know the result of the test , the fight is already over.

Did you miss their answer when questioned why it stopped at 18 days? Their response goes something along the line wherein: they deemed it fit that blood tests is enough up to that point, but urine tests has continued atleast once every week.
