    i couldnt say.

Floyd isn't that good fighting off the ropes where Sweet Pea resembled James Toney with very effective defense and counter shots.

Floyd knocked out a world class fighter tonight that Whitaker wouldnt have had the offensive power to do the same.

they are even at this point. i couldnt argue any different.

    I love both fighters.

I have Sweet Pea ahead, but they're both defensive genius', and it's a pleasure to watch them work in the ring.

Pea wasn't anywhere near close to being shot against De La Hoya. Past his prime yes, but not anywhere near shot. Whitaker was in great condition when he fought De La Hoya at 33 years of age.

Whitaker's reflexes and defense were imense. Not shot. Fast forward two years and watch him against Trinidad and you'll see a shot fighter. Inactivity, and coke abuse was really taking its toll like never before. He stood flated footed and traded with Trinidad, which goes to show you how shot he was was in that fight.

Whitaker performed as well as he could at 33 years of age against De La Hoya. He mustered everything he could out of his body for that fight.

he didnt beat jcc yes he did beat the professor but i remember it being a close fight i think i scored it a close 1pt. fight..,pea hit the canvas here amd there and pea beat a non descript champ at 54 floyd came from 30 not 35 to beat oscar...,i think floyd is a slightly better counter puncher and his defense is just as good with more pop in his punches..,

still if im puttin money down ill take floyd in this match up

Whitaker's best win is Nelson. I think he beat Chavez, but in reality that fight was a draw.

Mayweather has beat Castillo, De la Hoya, Hatton, etc.

    Whitaker's defense was more impressive.

    Mayweather's defense was more complete.

You need spectacles. Nelson won three rounds at best. It goes down as one of the best performances of Whitaker's career.

    1 point :nono

Whitaker's defense was more complete. Watch Whitaker slip both sides of Ramirez's right jab four times in their rematch. Mayweather aint got head movement/anticipation like that.

 trying to sneak that one there huh. Like I say I love the way Floyd fights better than Pea. But Floyd needs a great fighter in his prime so when people look back..its undeniable...instead of how about if he faced this guy or that guy

Whitaker is a top 20 all time p4p fighter. Mayweather is a top 35 all time p4p great. Getting closer, but people come on. If it was not for straight up robberies then Whitaker would have been going into the DLH fight undefeated, and he nearly one that fight coked out as well!

If whitaker was given the decision against ramriez the first time and de la hoya, he would probably rank higher than leonard.

I said before the fight that Mayweather could be an all time great, citing that with a few good decisions he could be regarded as the greatest, and tonight he took a huge step in the right direction... There are those who will criticize him for not beating an all time great, but look at his resume; DeLaHoya, Judah, Mitchell, Corrales, Castillo, Gatti, even tough guys like Jesus Chavez, Justin Juuko and Baldomir, and now an elite fighter by the name of Ricky Hatton...
mayweather has beaten every credible contender in his way so far, and now a (Tough) fight with Cotto could seal his greatness...
As for surpassing Whitaker; Mayweather displays a dominance of skill over his opponents similar to that of Whitaker with the added menace of a knockout punch... For my money; Whitaker is great but Mayweather is greater...

That was a 9-3, 10-2 fight in favor of Sweet Pea, watch the fight and learn something.
