Good post, I think in a H2H matchup, Pea beats Floyd. BTW you forgot Ramirez, who was a damn good fighter.
whitaker may lose to odlh at 140..,oscar could bang better there but maybe floyd does also..,even. your not going to tell me the vasquez that pea fought was better than the oscar floyd fought are you??? he not only beats that chaves i think he may stop him.chaves past 140 had major problems. i didnt see nelson an peas fight as a blow out and with floyd power at that weight he may infact stop nelson with accumulation of punches. buddy was a great fighter but what category is he better than floyd in..,see what meldrick taylor did to buddy same for floyd i think. when oscar boxed tito and bernard and winky did the same tito was rendured to helplisness.cant imagine tito being able to hit floyd if he couldnt get to those 3. it might be infact true he might not lose 3 rounds to any fighter pbf's fought.but odlh at 154.but at this point floyd hasnt lost and pea had a few blemishes on his resume. at this point in there career floyd has 5 titles pea had 3.
A prime Whitaker at 140 was much better than the Whitaker DLH struggled with. A prime 140 DLH was not that much different to the 147 DLH. Better, but not to the extent that Whitaker was better. In light of that, I'd take Pea, and somewhat comfortably. His sheer size would trouble Floyd more than anything, but I think Mayweather would get on top. Chavez is not Ricky Hatton mate, He doesn't lead with his face, he has defence, he has fine punch placement, he has a right hand, he has a better chin than Hatton too. I'd love to see your round by round for the fight and show me how Nelson got within a point. The judges cards were disgraceful in themselves, a one point margin is an out and out farce. He has more power than Floyd, and that's about it. But he is competent in many categories, making him a hard task for anyone. As for the Meldrick Taylor fight, bear in mind that McGirt had an ear infection days before the fight, explaining why he looked gassed as early as the second round. That was not the real Buddy McGirt. Winky and Bernard were both bigger than him though. I think with his pressure and punching power he could get to Floyd and keep him too defensive to win rounds, like he did to DLH in the later rounds. No doubt Floyd would make him look silly at times, but Tito was great at applying pressure and his power was lethal. Well I think he has already lost, despite what his record says, so to me he has blemishes and a lesser resume to boot. 4 actually, but who cares? Zab Judah had titles in more weight classes than Marvin Hagler. Arturo Gatti had more titles than Carlos Monzon.
you brought nothing new and convinced me of ****.the chaves was at welter..,again who did he beat at that weight? vasquez would not trouble floyd at all. at just below 31 he had pea had 3 weight class titles..., look ill take floyd over pea just befor his 31st birthday and i have to make no excuses for floyd all the nay sayers have to make them for pea!!! pbf>pea and floyds not done yet pea was on the slide just abit after this..,so..,
I think he currently ranks with Jones, a big win or maybe 2 away from Sweet Pea at the moment. Floyd can pass him though, if he just gets 1-2 more megafight victories.
