Has Miguel cotto ever been knocked down by single shots?

No, I was gonna mention that when people kept thinking Canelo should've dropped or hurt him. But then I thought eh, never mind, won't change anyone's opinion. They'll keep thinking both Cotto is glass chinned and Canelo is feather fisted..

Cotto has a good chin, when he has been knocked down they were by shots that he didn't see. Even when he was stopped by Margarito and Pac it was a sustained beating and fatigue in Margo's case.

Cotto's defence is vastly underrated as well imo.

Pac dropped him in round 4 with a single uppercut. The round 3 knockdown could also be considered a one punch from the right hook.

That was the first shot that came to mind, uppercut from Pac. I think Torres dropped him with a right hand too, IIRC.

 

Torres rocked Cotto at least 3 times if I remember correctly, but knock down came after Cotto was ***** street again and Torres threw him in the canvas from ropes.

Pacquiao dropped him with single shots so did Ricardo Torres.

 

I wouldn't say Cotto has a weak chin but I wouldn't say Canelo is a huge puncher at middleweight either just respectable at world class level.

Was going to mention the uppercut from Pacquiao, but The Mongoose beat me to it. Torres didn't knock Cotto down with a single punch, it was an accumulation of punches and the knockdown occurred after a shove. Torres hurt him numerous times but Cotto was still there and fighting back always. That's definitely a fight worth recommending to anyone and a fight that stole the show(Wladimir vs Peter undercard).
