I guess he never really had a standout year in total. Plenty of world champions, but maybe more long-term success as opposed to the short-term burst of momentum that seems to get trainers the award.

No point in arguing with them Freddy, boxing like much of life out side of the ring is allegoric in the sense that the Mexicans carry the brunt of the work. (In this case the sport) Yet receive little to no credit for it by mainstream outlets. Mexicans have always been the hardest working yet never get the right recognition why should boxing be any different??
