DHL fought the best of his time at any weight he could reach. Few today can say that. I do not think one can say he ever dodged anyone.
Some of the wins and losses were conterversial close.
    A couple not.
Even Sugar Ray lost a couple when he was at DHL's age.

I never understood the hate, never will.

You wait 5 years and he will be more admired than now, look at Lewis who was hated just as much then as DHL.

Explain to me how winning 11 of 17 of those big fights that are listed, counts as losing "most of his of big fights".

You could also add 4 other victories in the "big fight" category like Carr, Leija, Castelljo etc. etc.

You just have issues remebering anything past 2003. Like I said, you're clearly a biased idiot.

Oscar has had a great career. Roy Jones has fought around the same amount of champs/ex champs.

    Ali - BEAT

    Liston
    Patterson
    Foreman
    Frazier
    Moore
    Young
    Norton
    Foster

With a loss to Larry Holmes at the end.

    That's not shabby.

Ali is the first that came to my mind as well. You could also add Henry Cooper to Ali's opponents. But as for RJJ, with all due respect to him, Oscar has fought FAR better opposition - there is no doubt about that, IMO. The Toney win aside, RJJ's best win is arguabley John Ruiz!

Oscar's level of opposition, whilst very good, has been more or less picked for its marketability.

Quite often the best opposition around made for the biggest money fights, so there is no doubting his resume is excellent for his era.

I can definitely think of several others, all things considered, that are better however.

Disagree, the simple fact that RJJ was a former middleweight stepping up to beat a world title holder at HW is better than beating Hopkins ten years before that fighters prime, or was even recognisable as the Hopkins which we know now.

People keep saying that, but don't give any names? :huh

Only one I can see where these is an argument, is Ali.

Mate you have every right to your opinion.

For me though -The simple fact is that Hopkins - Raw Hopkins in the mid 90's - Had a bigger defensive and offensive arsenal than Ruiz has ever possesed.

I mean Ruiz stood there for rounds at a time trying to feint Roy Jones...that was about the extent of his offensive output.
