Its the first time in ages Canelo will have fought outside of Vegas. What if the NY Judges do not protect Canelo like the Vegas judges & the NSAC do ?? What if he gets shafted in NY & Rocky gets a gift ?? I know I'd laugh my ass off But I'm sure Oscar has got them allLooked after to stop that happening lol
Oscar has a threat gauge for his ginger cheat and if the threat gauge is low then they will creep out of Nevada. If the threat is high they scamper straight back to Vegas.
If he went for a proper top middleweight or smw in this case, it could have become an issue. Oscar and Canelo aren't stupid, so they opted to have a field day with Fielding.
Oscar has made many questionable decisions throughout his life (some of them involving kitchen utensils).
People who have seen this device report that it’s shaped like a spoon and Oscar always carries it with him.
He's coming off two fights in a row vs GGG who was the MW King. He didn't even have to fight in December. What's your problem with him fighting Fielding? Regular champ or not, he's still a title holder at SMW. 3 months after beating GGG he's fighting outside of Vegas vs a champ at SMW. If you want to call it a light touch, he deserves that after fighting GGG twice. But I don't see how fighting a man with such a huge size advantage is a light touch. Give it a rest, it's a good fight for Canelo on a short turnaround after beating GGG.
I don't have any problem with him fighting a pushover, I'm just reacting to the thread! Thead name; "HAS OSCAR MADE A MISTAKE?" answer; No, they didn't because they chose Fielding outside of Vegas... they don't need the judges. I mentioned nothing about him not being alowed to pick a walkover this time around.
Honestly though, is Fielding really a "walkover"? Like I get that he's not the best fighter out there, but can you really blame Canelo for fighting him? Just the size advantage alone is going to be a challenge for Canelo to see how he handles that size. This isn't like he's fighting some cab driver or something. Moving up in weight is not easy and I don't think you can under estimate Fielding. As far as not fighting in Vegas, historically the biggest fights usually happen in Vegas. Floyd made a career of fighting in Vegas but no one really complained about it. But then when Canelo fights in Vegas everyone starts crying about it. Vegas like it or not is the fight capital of the world. It made sense for Canelo GGG to happen there.
He isn't that good, and doesn't make it into the 2nd half of the fight. And I don't blame Alvarez for taking an easy opponent. People complained about Vegas judging and the Nevada athletic commission for decades upon decades. And fans certainly complained about Floyd's Vegas connection. This didn't just start due to Canelo's scorecards, it has always been a controversial location, and some actually say it's the "Vegas charm"
