The guy could have the 2nd best chin in boxing (Arthur Abraham is number 1 of course) Has Paul ever even been shaken? i remember reading an interview with paul saying he spars cruserweights and heavyweights, he said he spar's o neil bell who is a huge puncher! no wonder he walks through welterweights and middleweights.
he's been hit alot and i dont think i can recall him ever being hurt, but williams has improved ten fold from his first meeting with quintana. he's jabbing more and he's starting to impose his size on his opponents more effectively. williams could be a late bloomer, we'll see how much he has really improved in his meeting in december with martinez.
He got rocked in the 11th round against Margo, he didn'y do a chicken dance or nothing like that, but he was rocked. He didn't wrap up Margo or run, Paul fought his was out of trouble and kept his composure.
He has not been shaken because he has not fought ANY heavy handed fighters. As much as I like PW(he is one of my favorites), his chin has not been tested hence the reason he has never been shaken. We will have to wait and see, even though I rate S Martinezes' power as underrated, Kelly Pavlik in my opinion will definitely test PW's chin that is something I have no doubts about.:good
no... in the 11th round of the margarito fight he was on the run for the entire round.... that was the closest he has ever been to shaken never was shaken against quintana never was shaken against winky he said his hardest was aganist walter mattyshe.... and if you watch taht fight you will see that paul basically hangs his head out to test wm's power..... i remember in the 6th or 7th round.... wm hit pw in the head his hardest with 3 consecutive shots and paul didnt tremble at all.... but at that point he moved back because he respected the power
I'd be very surprised if Pavlik didn't knock Williams out. Pavlik imo easily can hit hard at 175. He has the frame for it. He just didn't touch Hopkins enough to gauge his power.
