Has Pavlik got a better option than joining the Super Six?

I'm not sure who would win a Pavlik/Ward fight. People usually respond to the idea of Pavlik fighting at 168 with some sort of uneducated and rather ignorant comments about how KP "looks like ****" above 160. The record speaks for itself. KP fought more fights above 160 than he has at 160. If you throw out the fights at 162-164, he has fought at, near, or above SMW 14 times. His record in those fights is 13-1 with 11 KO's.

In addition, the version of Kessler that fought Ward would be lucky to see the middle rounds against Pavlik. Mikkel looked terrible.

There are more who agree. Basically on esb it's, your either a Bute man or a Ward man. Ward fans think he's done enough. Bute's aren't convinced by 1 impressive win. Wards young tho.

You could be right but I definately think that Pavlik would deal witht the range issue much better than Kessler. Also Pavlik his a lot harder than Kessler and Ward would have to be very wary of this. If Pavlik were to tag him he would put him to sleep!

I would agree with this. He looked just as out of sorts as Pavlik did against B-hop. How much of both of those was down to the opponent is a matter of opinion not fact!

Pavik vs Ward would be a great fight and would deffinetly answer a lot of questions about both fighters!

    Interesting.

I'm gonna upset you now! sorry

I actually see Bute in a similar place. Andrade was good but for me Bute needs a defining fight for me to see how good he really is. The supersix would offer that oppotunity but it doesn't look like it's gonna be Bute who gets the nod!

Pavlik doesnt put people to sleep he is a volume puncher who gets through by utilising his size and strength to apply pressure , coupled with his walk forward Mexican style this is hard to deal with @160 .

Ward however is a boxer , a boxer who moves laterally and has good handspeed , he doesnt throw combinations and doesnt like fighting on the inside , he clearly has the power of a true SMW and his footwork is outstanding !!!!!!

In summary Pavilk's worst nightmare !!!! ala Hopkins .

Well if it ever happens we will see!

But I do think Pavlik would have more of a shout than you are giving him.
And I also feel Ward has still more to prove than you obviously do.

But I enjoyed the breakdown and analysis of your well thought out posts.

It makes a change to have a good debate on here without someone resulting to petty insults. (you mug lol) just kidding!

I think we've probably exhausted Ward vs Pavlik for the time being though!

Not upset. For me Bute's done a little more than Ward so far. You're right however, he definitely needs a defining fight &/or the winner of the Super 6. Crazy division SMW.

Pavlik uses his "size advantage" over who? His 3 toughest victims immediately moved to 168 after he beat them. Miranda and Taylor were within 1 pound of KP on fight night. Zuniga moved up and beat 7 shades of **** out of Oganov who was 25-0 with 25 KO's and spent his whole career at SMW. Sorry, but your argument is spurious at best.

Ward through NINE head butts, hit on the break, hit low repeatedly, and if Jack Reiss wasn't a complete moron, he would have disqualified Ward.

none of that **** would fly against kelly or jermain. both guys know very well how to not play well with others.

i was shocked at how inept kessler looked in dealing w/ this.

bring an elbow across his head when he jumps in w/ it...don't sit there w/ drop your guard everytime there is a tie-up.

that being said ward woulda won w/o all that but still, kessler coulda made it a little more competitive if he just woulda fought fire with fire. i was waiting for him to get mad but it just never happened. he did throw some hail mary cavemanish lefts but that was about it.
