    I remember I read it when the tournament started. Can't remember wether it was on showtime or not. Search for supersix threads near when it was announced and you may find a source.

    It makes sense to me anyhow. Certainly that is what I understand is supposed to happen.

    Pavlik is going to fight a top 10 fighter.....thats top 8 to 10....a guy like Mundine fits the bill...forget PW and Martinez....look at his last few fights.....its Mundine for sure

    Absolutely no guarantee. Bute has to show some impressive wins to become unavoidable.

    Yeah, I think after his comments regarding it and his not stellar performances above 160, it wouldn't be likely or a good idea. I wish he'd been able to secure a unification with Sturm. That could've been a good fight.

    I'm sure when they announced the tournament they said that the winner would be fighting Bute which is why he didn't kick up too much of a fuss at being left out. It sort of gave him some indirect credibility!

    Never heard anything like that from Bute's team mouth. They hope to get the winner and will manage to do so. But I never read or heard they were guaranteed of.

    100% false. :deal

    Key = at the moment

    False and False again. Bute has no guarantee and I've read his team is the one pushing for the Pavlik fight right now because of the money.

    Many feel Martinez beat Williams and that Martinez presents a bigger a bigger risk because of the style.

    False! Many feel it was a draw and they should fight a rematch!!

    And if you do say "many" what is your source? I hope not just ESB or some independent poll you conducted in Youngstown!!

    It's my understanding that Showtime has options on the tournament winner. Pavlik and Bute are both "HBO fighters," but neither is under any kind of contract with HBO, nor is there any guarantee that the tourney winner will fight Bute or Pavlik.

    I didn't think so.....People keep bringing it up as fact though. Just trying to get things straight. I found it odd that Bute would be "guaranteed" the Super 6 winner when he had practically been knocked out by a B fighter in Andrade and hadn't as of that moment gotten his sweet redemption. Seems quite a limb to go out on considering the tourney won't end until when?.......late 2011? Alot can happen between now and then.

    I can just see Hermit the redneck standing outside the local Wal-Mart conducting a Pavlik poll.
