Love him or hate him, he's been washed up for almost half of his professional career and has lost to most of the good fighters he's faced in the last 10 years. Has he ruined or at least seriously tainted his legacy?

With casual fans? Sure. With anyone with even half a brain and some vague concept of the norms of the sport, no, he's been what he's been, done what he's done, and if he got knocked out a thousand times by a thousand Lebedevs or Allan ****ing Green, it makes literally no difference to an intelligent and knowledgeable person analysing his career.

i really dont know only time will tell

it just looks bad that for a period of almost a decade he has been losing fights and getting KO'd, but he scored some alright wins in between some of those losses and would show shades of his greatness at times

there are lots of fans now for whatever reason or agenda go and bash his entire career and who he fought and all that, which is expected

not sure how much of that is Jones's fault, but the guy did what he did and beat plenty of good fighters doing it

when the smoke settles im sure he will be remembered favorably

Tainted...he should have stop after the Tarver 1 gift he got....

He should have never had let Tarver, Bhop & f**k Calzage....get Wins over him...
    Roy...how far...you have fallen....
    (I honestly don't feel he will retire...till Bhop does...their legecy...are kind of linked...it's a special rivalry...

I doubt even the casuals would count any of his losses, especially to fighters like Calzaghe and Lebedev. Fans in general tend to overreact whenever anyone loses regardless of time and age, but as years go no one will even count these losses.

Nope, when you get older you start to suck so it's understandable why he got his ass handed to him in the later years. This guy is a warrior for still fighting.

I can't believe people still count the first Tarver fight as a gift. It was a close yet clear win for Roy Jones, the only reason people seem to freak out about it is because Jones never looked troubled like that ever in his career.

Tarver only had his moments when Jones was on the ropes, when it was in the middle of the ring Tarver was getting schooled.

Is that the bum that couldn't hit Calzaghe even though Calzaghe stood infront of him face to face with his gloves down .

If he loses to Kimbo(which I don't think will happen) he will have disgraced this sport. He already disgraced this sport by agreeing to fight that bum...

Yes in that his H2H rating against other greats has been compromised, due to the devastating nature of his losses to Tarver and Johnson when he was close to his prime

No in that the losses in recent years have meant nothing, as he was washed up. I don't think anyone gives Calzaghe, Green, Hopkins or Lebedev much credit for beating Jones

I hate how RJJ fanboys trash Calzaghe :patsch At least Calzaghe retired before he made make a fool out of himself. Calzaghe would have even given a prime RJJ problems if you ask me.

    I agree...

Easy fight to score... Roy won clearly by 2 rounds..

Tarver took too much time off, let Jones rack up points with a body assault that Tarver was actually being hurt by. I had it a draw going into the 11th, Roy dug down and came up big in the last 2 rounds..

Anyone that says he has no heart or never faced adversity, has not seen that fight.
