Say what you will about him, his chin seems to be excellent if not better. I remember Hopkins staggered him with a perfect counter punch and it was a ruled a knockdown because his glove touched the canvas (?). Boxrec says he was down in the first against Harding in 2000, but i've never seen that one.

He took a lot of big shots from Dawson recently and Jones nailed him pretty hard with those lead right hands in their first fight as well.

Most of the shots from Dawson were glancing blows or partially blocked.

Dawson's KD was better than Hopkins' was. Tarver wanted it to be called a slip, but it obviously wasn't.

Tarver has a good chin, though.

    Hopkins
    Dawson
    Harding
    Reggie Johnson

However, Hopkins, Dawson, and Johnson were all flash KDs (and considered questionable by some), and against Harding he took a knee amidst a flurry of punches, by which time both his jaws and ribs were broken.

To his credit, I don't think I've ever seen him dropped where he looked dazed or out on his feet.

Yeah it doesnt touch the canvas but it would not have made a difference in the fight. The Dawson kd was weird too cus it looked as if Tarver was trying to do a cartwheel or something. in the end was it ruled as a KD?

Thats true but hes had most of them at a high level so thats impressive

    Roy Jones 3x
    Bernard Hopkins
    Chad Dawson
    Clinton Woods
    Glen Johnson 2x
    Montell Griffin
    Reggie Johnson
    Eric Harding 2x

    Not bad for 32 fights
