The two Klitschkos have proved themselves to me and I was a doubter, both of them have done the really hard work, they have eliminated their weak points and worked so hard on all aspects of fighting in the gym, never have we seen two men work as hard as them and we can see the results. You have to give them credit they deserve it.

What do you think your media-hyped American "superheroes" of yesteryear, like Ali, could do against the amazing Klitschkos? I'll tell you what - a lot less than the guys they are fighting right now!

In point of fact the heavyweight division is today much bigger and stronger and international in scope and better than it ever was before!

As I'm always saying, that era was quite full of talent, but the best were underachievers.

You could debate how good the Klitschkos are all day but they are besides the point when it comes to the division as a whole. The fact Dimitrenko is top 10, Helenius was top 5, Adamek was ranked 3rd, Chisora is now top 10 and so on, is indicative of how poor the era is. Shockingly bad.

Maybe the Klitschkos would dominate in any era or maybe they're just the best of a horrible bunch. No matter how highly you rank those two, the division as a whole is undeniably terrible.

Marciano's era, especially toward the tail end of his reign, was horrible. Old, worn out light heavies and hacks like Tommy Jackson. Anyone in today's top ten would be a world beater in that day.

They will be ATGs they have cleaned out the division in a way we have not really seen before and are completely dominant, where they rate when compared to other eras is hard to say but they are up there with the best without a doubt. They are fighters that would be up there with the best in any era.

If you bother to read back issues of boxing magazines e.g. The Ring you will see that the heavyweight division has NEVER been any good. Personally, my memories of the 80's heavyweight division was two flabby boxers paw and posture for 14.5 rounds then fight for the least amount of time possibly. The heavyweight division was largely ignored until Mike Tyson came along with his take no prisoners+100%bad intentions style that people began to become interested in boxing again. At that time Tyson was dismissed as an overblown cruiserweight capitalizing on a weak era. You could read back issues of those magazines and the heavyweight division will always be "at its worst ever". Ten years from now it will be the same thing too.

Quite frankly, I think you could take a 40 something year old Bernard Hopkins and place him against a prime John L. Sullivan, Joe Louis, Floyd Patterson, Max Baer etc and ol' Hop would probably school most of them on what boxing is all about. Hop won't get in the ring against the two top heavies now because he'd get killed. I think boxers from the past would be flattend by the current champs in any division just on the basis of PED alone.
