it looks like warren is having his revenge on mitchell by matchinh him with murray and like you quiet rightly point out wats the point in signing murrary then matchin him in a fight you arent confident in winning. sometimes wena fighter losses it can be the makin of them eg khan however that is nt the case with mitchell he stayed out the ring to long and has been enjoyin life a little to much he s not gettin any younger and has wasted the past 9 months

 

Warren is a shrewd businessmen. He would never sign Murray in a multi fight deal, then put him against Mitchell, thinking he will lose. I honestly believe Warren feels Murray will beat Kevin comfortbaly, otherwise the match makes no sense.

Unfortunately for Warren, he is wrong on this one and Mitchell is gonna knock him the **** out :bbb

 

Warren made this fight in response to loosing DeGale vs Groves purse bids. Warren always has a star on his books who can sell out arenas and sell PPV's generating huge sums which allow him to pay his up and coming fighters more than anyone else so he can remain the top UK promoter. Since Khan left he doesn't have that so Warren is in a position where he needs to create stars quicker. To sell tickets on his shows he needs to put together riskier fights.

This fight is happening because Warren needs to sell tickets and make a star. Mitchell in and 8 rounder and Murray against a hungarian in a euro doesn't do that. Against each other you get 5000 Mitchell fans and 3000 coming from Manchester and big viewing figures on sky.

 

I still think Mitchell wins it.

Murray hasn't got anywhere near the power of Katsidis. I think Mitch would outbox him from long-range in a fairly wide UD.

 

murray doesn't sell that much tickets, i've been to a few of his fights at the robin park arena in wigan and it was never sold out.

 

Murray is the new signing Frank's looking to build...Warren got Mitchell his big fight and Mitchell failed. Frank's moving on to Murray now IMO.

 

I think deep down, that's the case but he won't admit it. The Kats fight would have made a mark as it hurt Frank were it hurts most (his wallet).
The winner will probably get a title shot and I believe he would be prefer to invest in a title shot on Murray rather than Mitchell.
Mitchell didn't put the time in at the gym last time. I don't know what his excuse was but he certainly found time to keep yapping to the media. Everyday he was on the scene saying how he was going to beat up Kats and Amir Khan so I don't think it was a case of he didn't have the time available to prepare.

Mitchell's career really has turned to **** since the Johanneson fight.

Long periods of inactivity, average performances over gash opponents...... then the bad defeat against Katsidis.

It wasn't losing to Katsidis that was the problem, it was the fact that Katsidis took a quick look and as soon as the heat went up he got Mitchell out of there PDQ.

Warren has admired Murray for quite some time, he's wanting to get some shows on up north with the likes of Bellew and Gavin featuring, Murray is the dream ticket if he's well promoted.

A win over Mitchell is just the first step along the road. He's got plenty of ticket sellers down south and doesn't need Mitchell any longer.
