I don't think Sky Sports ever really "release" the PPV numbers but I've seen reports of buys between 500,000 and 600,000.

If the Uk ppv buys outdo the canelo smith ppv numbers, would that hurt canelo's brand and grow GGG's brand?

And make golden boy promotions rethink their direction with canelo and his future opponents? Maybe take on tougher opponents?

500-600K? Really? That would be astonishing. Probably more than Joshua's done. Certainly deserved more buys than a Joshua fight but we all know how AJ brings in the casual fans.

Hearn said it did more than AJ v Whyte so it definitely did more than 400k

Isn't the population of Great Britain 65million? Would they do 500k?

No, since UK ppvs dont mean anything, they cost like 20 dollars.

Canelo-Smith is on Boxnation in the UK. Idk if that's PPV or not. I don't think it is. So that means Golovkin-Brook was regular HBO in the US and PPV in the UK. And Canelo-Smith is HBO PPV in the US and regular Boxnation in the UK. So its VERY different to compare. PPV in the UK is only $20 bucks so it always does a lot more PPV than in the US. Two completely different platforms so its not even fair to compare.

As for making Golden Boy and HBO rethink his future opponents. We'll have to wait and see the Canelo-Smith PPV numbers. I'm guessing they will be so bad compared to Canelo's other fights that they won't even be released. Idk if HBO will continue to put Canelo on PPV instead of regular HBO if they keep putting him in non competitive fights. No disrespect to Smith, but hes not a big selling name so its not really a PPV worthy fight in my opinion.
