Has there been a case where a (decent) fighter would lose to his trainer?

Joe Frazier trained Marvis Frazier. A fight between the two of them would've been short and sweet.

Robert Garcia would've beaten a fair few of the fighters he trained I reckon.

Teddy Atlas wasn't much of a fighter. All the Camachos beat him.

He looks like he has the face of a weathered fighter. But he's just a heavy-lidded, slow-talking, mouth-hanging open, naturally dumb looking guy. He's the half-wit son of a doctor.

His features and slowness didn't come from ring wars.

People mistake his looks for that, though.

BJ Flores and J Leon Love would probably both beat Jake Paul.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Floyd Sr could’ve beaten Hatton

A more modern take - if the rumours about Whittaker being trained by Andy Lee are true, then at this stage I would bet on Lee - who is physically still very much in shape.

Well that rules out my pick. Prime for prime I would have said Hasim Rahman beats Michael Hunter Jr. But Rahman was quite old by the time he started training Hunter.

His Uncle Matthew was training him he would beat Campbell for sure but I think Campbell is with Ben Davison now so that would be 50/50
